To my knowledge there is no emulator made specifically for this game. ScummVM, which is a popular emulator for tons of old point and clicks, does not support this game. But like I said you shouldn't need an emulator. If the game really doesn't run for you, running an older operating system like Windows XP through a Virtual Machine is about all you can do.

This game runs absolutely fine on my 2013 Lenovo laptop running Windows 8.1. No emulation, capability mode, or file editing needed whatsoever. Very easy to run on modern computers. I can't speak for Windows 10 however.

It will not run a Mac post 2006 because Ollo is from 2002, it expects the Mac to be PowerPC based, when Apple switched to x86 in 2006, it made programs designed for PowerPC incompatible. So for Mac some kind of boot camp or VM would be needed.

It really just comes down to more grinding and minimizing mistakes. One thing I have noticed in your run is that, at the start of Chapter 4, when you check for the amount of sugar, press the period key to skip the narrator's dialogue, so you hear the Owl's dialogue sooner. Also turning on subtitles helps because you look at the subtitles instead of listening for what he says. Aside from that you pretty much have the gist of the strats, it's just a matter of following the route without errors, and going fast.

Sub 2 took me a while, but I eventually did do it, and I thought sub 2 was as good as I was going to get for a while. But then I dug even deeper and played even better and still managed to get better time, eventually leading to what time I have now. Point is, there is always room for improvement, it's just a matter of keeping at it, even when it feels like you've hit a ceiling, it just means you gotta keep going and break through. So keep at it and sub 2 will come when it happens. The sky's the limit.

Yes there is. You right click on the application shortcut (make a shortcut if you don't have one already). Then click "properties". Once in the properties menu, you add a "-w" at the end of the target file like so:

After doing this the game should run in windowed mode. To go back to fullscreen you just remove it. Hope this helped.

The game's release date can be found on mobygames here: http://www.mobygames.com/game/ollo-in-the-sunny-valley-fair/release-info (It only specifies the Mac release date but the same disc works on Windows and Mac so we know for sure.) It's also mentioned on early press release material like this article: http://www.nydailynews.com/digital-delights-new-titles-promise-provide-humongous-entertainment-young-gamers-article-1.481193

And yes I want to do something special for this game's 15th anniversary. I will probably just stream it, along with its sister game Moop & Dreadly which was released the same day.

Having a column for Penguin Skip made more sense in the past, back when Louis' (at the time) 3rd place 51 second run did not use it. However, he has had a PB with penguin skip for quite a while, not to mention the top 9 runs and all sub 1 runs use it.

Having a column has brought more questions than answers, and at this point I see no reason to distinguish between runs that do use it and runs that don't any longer.

All in favor say so. All opposed state your reasoning.

I'm sorry, the way saves are handled, they're not interchangeably with other languages, or even revisions of the same language.

However, there is an alternative to downloading a save. Which is to make your own save, it's pretty easy.

While Freddi Fish 2 is running, hold "Ctrl+D" to bring up ScummVM's debugger.

Once the debugger is open, type "room 45", to access the game internal path select.

Once you're there, reconfigure the setup so it looks exactly like this: http://i.imgur.com/zjFDLbp.jpg After you're set the correct configuration, click the top left arrow to restart the game. Skip the intro so you can save the game. Saving is done by pressing the S key. And now you have your own save.

Hope my alternative solution works. If there's any confusion with the process, feel free to reply.

No, No, and No. The emulator you want is 'ScummVM' (http://scummvm.org/). It comes bundled with the game when you buy it on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/294650/ So there's no reason to make the demo a category just because you can't find an emulator.

Changed the game page to fit better with the games already on here.

I know, seeing Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo seemingly develop as a speed game is cool. The new categories are kinda questionable. 5x I guess can go here since it did exist prior to this leaderboard. 10 goal I guess is a fun RNG category that actually uses the hockey mini-game. 30 is an odd number, but for some sick challenge it works I suppose. 100% (Now called all screens), seems arbitrary, and may be the weakest category here, but since it has two runs, I see not much harm keeping it around. I want to route and run the old 100% with pictures, since apparently there is no picture for reuniting baby jambo, so maybe true 100% CAN happen? I'd have to experiment with this. The route may be complicated, but it could make for an interesting run.

I'm J2xp. I am currently the only Super Mod, meaning I (should) have the final saying with most things on the leaderboard, or at least in my head that's how it works.

I have the world record for not only this game, but many other Putt-Putt and Humongous games.

I'm not really free Tuesday or Thursday nights, but any time between 4pm and 10pm PST I should be available.

I know I'm missing Cheese Chase and Hold the Mustard, I could add them, but I'm not gonna at the moment, as I've yet to encounter any speedrun of them. Even for a series like Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt, the only arcade games on this site are the ones I've found speedruns of, so there's also no PJSam Sock Works, or Putt's Balloon-o-Rama. I guess having no runs of a game hasn't stopped games from appearing on the site, but I'm not sure if I want to bother consider that fact. If you can find me a run of either game, I'll make a page asap. (Lastly sorry for late reply, didn't real look into the forum until now, and wasn't notified when you posted in here.)
