Welcome to the Brigandine: Grand Edition speedrun category!

There are lots of ways to save time on this game and every run is unique and interesting due to the fact that this games complexity offers many scenarios.

Please message me if you have questions or post here as you please!

At the moment it's a fairly long run timing in at 5:39:00~

I can definitely push this time down and I screwed up a lot on this particular attempt.

I recorded commentary throughout pretty much the whole thing explaining my strategies, thinking, and reasoning for why this should be considered as a new run.

To summarize it really quickly, this is FF3j with a romhack called Maeson Mix applied, I am working with Maeson to balance the class/spell changes and make this more of a smooth speedrun. It's called Legit% because we cannot cheese/glitch the run, you have to beat it like a legit run.

I explain everything throughout the video, so please, take the time to watch one of your favorite games come back to life! Haha

Let's make this happen friends! FF3j is too cool to let die!

This game is great and doesn't get the attention it deserves because it is so slow paced.. Which is why I'm starting a new category!

Conventional runs of this game (NeS version) just cheese it or glitch everything out and it kinda takes all the life out of it.

Considering this is such an old and slow rpg full runs are kinda out of the question unless you have 5 hours to dedicate.. So my compromise is to introduce FF3 - No EC Turbo Legit%!

Basically the rules are that you cannot cheese or glitch anything out, you have to play the games, handle the encounters, grind where you need to and overall play the game the way it was meant to be played.. The difference is that you can use a 2x emulation turbo button!

I know this goes against conventional speedruns and I wouldn't advocate for turbo in most games but FF3 is so cool and no one has interest because it's so freaking slow.

So having the ability to use 2x speed opens up huge possibilities for saving bits of time by being really good at it, even in the menu you can save so much time if you use the turbo properly, and allows players and viewers to see the actual game instead of just some cheesy glitches that give you everything you need without actually playing through the game.

It is challenging, there are tons of things that can go wrong, and small mistakes really add up!

The only thing that suffers is the music because 2x music speed just sounds awful and I know people love the music but something has to be sacrificed to give this game new life!

Let me know what you think!
