I was just running portal to see if I could get a PB to put here. I was using OBS, and everything was going fine- all my runs up to this point were recording. My last run, I got a 17:01. This doesn't seem great, but it's a large improvement over my previous 18:36. I was super exited about it, and I was about to post it, but when I went to check the video, THE FILE WAS CORRUPTED. Every other video I recorded was perfectly fine, but the the one recording where I got a PB was corrupted. I've tried multiple methods to try and fix the file, but nothing has worked. Can I get an F

I've been trying to get Source Unpack to work for Portal for months now, and I've never been successful for various reasons. Currently, the reason it wont work (I think) is because, when running the downloader through 7-Zip, it gives me the error message "can not open output file C:\Users[My Name]\Downloads\portal[Game File]" for seemingly every file in the game (It goes on for several thousand lines). I have no idea why this is happening, and I can even get HL2 to run normally. When I try to run the actual Portal application (After it's done in 7-Zip, it does output the applications for both games, and like I said, HL2 works, but Portal wont), it gives me the error message "Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in doesn't exist in subdirectory 'portal'. Check your -game perimeter or VCONFIG setting."

There isn't a lot of troubleshooting information online for Source Unpack online, so it'd be extremely helpful if someone here could help me through it. I want to start seriously running the game, however, with my Oob PB sitting a little over 19 minutes, there is a LOT to improve, and I want to have a decent time before I post my score.

Hey! I've been into Speedrunning Portal for around a year now, and I want to finally record a demo and submit a time, but I'm not sure if I'm breaking any rules with what I have now.

1. Are you allowed to use an Auto-Hotkey? I use an autohotkey to help me with ABHing, but I'm not sure if it's against the rules to use one.

2. Can you edit game files (I.e., Changing files) I have a re-textured portalgun, and I was wondering if it would somehow be a rule violation to have it, since I had to manually edit the game's files to do it.

3. Are mods from Gamebanana disallowed? I was thinking of getting some texture reskins off of Gamebanana (Not any scripts or gameplay changes, just reskins of in-game objects), but I don't know if mods of any type are disallowed.

Answers to any of these questions would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone had a link to a more in depth list of rules (Out-side of the normal rules listed on the Speedrunning page), that would be even better. Thanks!

I'm trying to get a personal best using by going Oob for the escape, since that saves a shit ton of time. I'm following a tutorial on youtube, but I always get stuck on the first loadpoint when on top of the room. I have only gotten it to activate once out of the many times I've tried it. Does anyone havve any idea why this might be?
