That Wii Play reference was perfect! Nice work on the first ever 100% run!

I may consider making a slight adjustment to the rules regarding the 'Reader' achievement, since if we can't nail it down to an exact science and it more or less relies on random chance, then we'll want to make it as fair as possible. But other than that, doesn't look like it was too much of a time loss for you, if not a bit annoying.

Quick update here, using the ShiftT skip, any% is now a feasible category again without it being an outright time loss.

I appreciate the effort of you recording this from the shadow realm, judging by your facecam B)

Nice work! Clean movement & great timing for the most part.

I could be wrong, but from what I know, the start of the timer doesn't need to be super accurate. You can start/finish it slightly off from the true time, and any misalignment is accounted for in the actual run time when the run is verified.

The only way I can think of where this would be untrue is if the final run time on the website is equal to the in-game timer at the end of the mission, regardless of the time offset. If that is the case, it could either be a situation where they're taking advantage of a rule that allows them to take that extra time off, or it could be a situation where the mods just made a timing mistake, which with a game this popular for speedruns, wouldn't be unlikely.

Absolutely possible with some timesaves. Heading down the road on your bike in any direction will trigger the store to load, so there may be a faster route than going all the way to the left in a U-turn.

Great run! Just a heads up, you don't need to do the first toilet with Evelyn skip. :D

^ To be fair, nobody had verified your question at the time, but yes. It will be moved to any% since the new skip qualifies as a glitch. However, I believe it still holds a WR time.

I assume you mean categories for beating the game starting at certain checkpoints and ending at other points. I'd normally support this, but given how short the game is, adding categories for each start & end point would simply be bloating the run selection. I reckon the three options currently present are more than enough.

This has been discussed in the discord, but for anyone curious, it seems to just be a matter of the run being so fast that Evelyn's dialogue is triggered before any buffers can prevent it as a result of prior events in the run. If this is the case, then a run that is equally as fast and employs the same strategy & order of events should be able to recreate the skip. It will not be counted as a glitch unless it can be proven to qualify as one.

What computer dialogue? Dialogue progresses if you check it after each notification and you can access the computer at any time if you remember the password. I used this strategy in my speedruns lol

No worries about the resubmission! It's always good to have a log of your progress.

Okay, this topic has died down, but for clarification for the future, diagonal sprinting will NOT count as a glitch. That being said, the any% category will still be available on the off-chance that a new glitch is discovered, and even if no new glitches are discovered, you can still achieve an any% run by taking the pizza and using the pizza skip if you wish to run that specific category.

Nice run! Movement could definitely be smoothed out in some areas but overall very solid. Also, sick moustache :D

Congratulations on the new world record!

I'm torn, because the majority vote in the Discord is for 'yes', but everyone else I've asked has said no. My main concern is that if it counts for glitchless%, then there's no real motivation to do any% runs since there are no glitches worth utilising, unless someone decides to do pizza skip and purposefully make their run longer just to get a WR in that category anyway.

To reiterate, diagonal movement refers to walking diagonally by holding 2 movement keys. This isn't properly accounted for in the movement engine, leading to the player character moving faster than intended by doing so. We are uncertain as to whether or not it should count as a glitch, as while it is an unintended mechanic, it is technically set up to function this way.
