CanadaAfter talking briefly with Cyl, we both agree we would rather see a new runner than ban it for now. If we find out later that there is some sort of advantage Cyl is open to making it it's own category. Welcome to the community. 😊
I actually forgot I own a turbo controller. I was testing it out and the only thing I can see giving you an advantage is being able to jump from platform to platform super quickly. Finnys swim speed seems to remain the same when it's on or off. You could also rapidly change targets which might be okay against shadows but it's more disorienting than anything imo. I guess it'll be up to the community. I'll ask the discord.

Wow I'm late to this. The board has been recently split between Playstation and Xbox. The time save is around 5-6 mins if I had to take a guess. Nobody has timed all the load differences yet. Someone has timed the character load screen differences and it's close to 4mins from those alone.
Updating this now. As of today the Xbox Series S version is the best console to run on. It saves a significant amount of time in loads (estimated 6+mins) and has every playstation skip besides bear mountain skip. But the timesave from loads overpowers said skip.
So the console order from best to worst is a Xbox Series S console, then the OG Xbox, PS4/PS5 and finally the worst being PS2.
Ps3 is still untested but it's doubted that it'll save much time if any at all. The Xbox Series X, Xbox One and 360 have not been tested but I assume the X and maybe Xbox One can keep up.
I was looking at my sr page and I think it's kinda silly that i'm the only console runner for this game. If any mods wanted to make it one shared board I wouldn't care. My original thought was that it should be split because PC loads faster and in 100% a mouse is much faster for filling in the sprites than a controller. Either way I don't mind, I just think 1 console run looks a little silly.
I doubt it, the description even says it's using new strats and it was years after eednobs. Also it's an entire minute ahead which is crazy for a 25min run.
I agree it doesn't feel like you're truly finishing the game but I definitely feel the category should be whatever is technically 100%. Maybe we could make a category extension or something for a "true 100%" but I feel as if you'd need to beat all difficulties at that point lol. I honestly thought the bounties had to be done in order for it to reach the 100% rating until I tested it.
I actually wanted to run this game myself lol. Not on emu, but on a Ps2. I agree it totally sucks there's no vod. I can't even see what the potential best strats are... totally makes me not want to pick it up.
I dunno how I didn't see this month's ago but knife glitch isn't one frame, not even close. It's pretty much 100% consistent. You just need to know what directions to proxy in. Also the og xbox version is significantly harder and when I tried bear mountain skip I didn't get it once in 2hrs. If you're on any xbox console Goodluck running anything but no major skips. Playstation 4/5 consoles are the way to go. Maybe 3? 3 needs testing.
In order I'd say Ps4/5 is the fastest then any xbox console and then ps2. Ps2 loads are disgustingly long.
Yeah I knew it had no audio. Not super Important for a 9s IL. Also I don't want to bring back milliseconds. Milliseconds imo are only for main categories in super competitive games with low run times. Runs under like 20mins. If someone ties anything I believe it should just be a tie. Even ILs for incredibly big games like Goldeneye don't use milliseconds. This game simply doesn't have enough activity to warrant milliseconds.
This run isn't on a ps2. Just make sure you're selecting the right console. No worries however.
Mod note: time begins on control and time ends upon first frame of smittys death animation. We don't use igt.
Just wanted to add to this and update it. I've since owned and tested the original Xbox version and it is not great for knife glitch strats. The framerate increase makes it super difficult in comparison to the ps4/5.
Ps2 is by far the worst version you can run on that we know of and I don't believe ps3 has really been tested but it has potential to be the best version or at least equal to the ps4/ps5. That being said the Xbox versions are the best for no major skips because that category doesn't use the knife glitch at all.
In my opinion a games timer never stops. Even if the game requires you to quit out or reset the entire game.
Fair fair. Yeah Xbox is 100% faster by comparison. I noticed that a few years ago when wanting to get into the game.
