I'm not gonna report you to SRC staff/admins but I just hope you know that if one of them does read this, they'll know what your other account is.
I believe that taking away the element of skill due to hardware changes just to save time is an overall negative direction for this to go. People don't choose to play on VC to save those seconds and I can't see why choosing to use an adapter that lets you press a button to get perfect analog inputs would be acceptable.
The star's skill has gone, whether it be lining up a cannon shot fast or doing cannonless. The skill required is no longer there because of a hardware change.
If you want to framewalk, feel free to do it with your stick. If you are skillful enough, you will save that time. That's how it should be.
Ignore IGT Leave verified as yes (mods will fix if needed). You can find more info on the verified column from the forum post.
If anyone says you can hold the N64 controller with left hand on left handle you should ignore them. You absolutely should hold the middle.
Was quite useful for people 5 months ago when it was first posted, yeah....
All these new single stars you're seeing are many many years old way before we had the video requirement on runs. A lot of people wanted to get a "free WR" by doing some random star that didn't have any times for it on the single star lb so a couple of our mods decided to update the single star lb to how they should be based on the old times that were available and that they knew of from old atwiki leaderboards.
Yes the platform dropdown you mentioned is the site's main generic platform choice which, as I mentioned, works for most games. Since we separate our runs by platform, we have a separate platform drop down which decides which specific leaderboard you'd go into. The main site platform drop down is used in the column of the run.
It's not a very smooth way of doing it but it's the best we can get at the moment.
Fixed. The biggest reason was because you didn't submit it correctly. The other reason is 'cause it's easy to miss when checking multiple runs and having to check for a lot of diff things.
In the future, if you're using emu, you need to specify that in the drop down box that has N64, VC and EMU. Ticking the box that says 'Emulator' isn't enough as this only makes a subscript emu tag which is just to allow filters (not very useful for SM64 but for most games on the site it works)
Well, single star is N64 only because it's about optimising a single star to its complete potential. This includes lag and loading in the star. Since emu and VC don't have lag and have faster loading, it would become a requirement to use VC for single star.
Regarding making separate tabs for N64/EMU/VC like with the standard leaderboard, with the way SRC works, this wouldn't be able to be done neatly as the tabs that we use to split them on the standard leaderboard are being used to split between each single star in a stage so we'd have to create 2 more basically identical single star leaderboards which wouldn't be ideal. On top of this, single star is already not very popular and especially so for emu/VC users.
Yes it is
That hasn't been said anywhere so I have no idea where you got that information. Don't spread misinformation.
We're going to allow Mupen64Plus for emulator submissions but we will require the emulator window to be shown for both Mupen64Plus and OpenEmu.
