4:52 should be possible if someone is committed enough to learn how to do pal ffpg. Save to assume it will not happen anytime soon. But i wouldnt rule it out.

Without someone putting 1000's of hours in learning ffpg in pal, I just dont see 4:53 happening in the following decade. It would even be a bigger of a task without l+r to get a 4:53 on ntcs. I would like to be proven wrong tho

Now im cofused, the video said 4:55.16. And if it were to be true, than the fastest way to beat the game is 4:51.69 not 4:54.036 right?

@hh555 due to pal running slower even with ffpg the best time is a 4:55.16

Doing fast accel at the start of the level doesnt save time because of framerules.

What i have to add to this is that i think the perfect game isnt the tas. The current wr is for me the perfect game. No one ever played it faster than the wr holder did, or so its perfect for at the moment.

Even if someone would grind that many years non stop and do a 1000 attenpts per day, you would have about 200000 attempts (5 years × 365 × 1000 attempts a day). There are 2 remarks to this

1. I dont think 200000 attempts would be enough
2. I dont think you can play this game for so long without taking any break without going insane In conclusion i do not think a "perfect game" or tying the rta tas is going to happen.

If someone were to ask me why second/minute barrieres are important, i would make the anology with new year's. New years is nothing more than a new day but its still a special day, but than you get 1999 -> 2000. Its extra special. (The new years is a wr and the 1999 -> 2000 is a second / minute barriere)

According to me you can go as far as using something like the ddr thing, as long as you dont use the forbidden things. (Like turbo and l+r ect.)

To get consistent multiple hours isnt enough, im practising pipejumps everyday for 10 minutes. (Shorter periods of time are working better than 1 long sesion for me). If you do that you will see yourself progress.

Its a good tuturial and really has helped me even tho i am not using these strats.

Edit: This video also helped me with the 1-2 pipejumps and just pipejumps in general

First of all, i would love some respect for the creator of the leaderboard and his dissions, if you dont like the dissions you dont have to call it "a joke" or "a damn circus".

Second of all, the creator got to make this board by submitting the game to the src mods, if you would like to know. And i think he did a great job making this leaderboard.

Nevertheless, i wish you the most of luck in your speedrunning carrier.

I would make a new cat for smb + rad + tetris. And keep any% this way

But than all runs from before have an advantace or need to be removed. Thats not a good idea imo

This is an good idea and would nerrow the numbers down, but if 10 people do runs of every level you get. 10 x (8 x 4) = 320 runs to verify.

There is no obvious way to beat tetris, thus i get the dession of the mod, i think its a good idea to include level 1 of tetris in a misc. cat.

I think you should download another rom, i think the rom super mario bros (e) is the pal version one which is like leon said slower.

If you get 341 in 4-1 you are on the pal version of the game, i recommend not using it because the framerate is lower on pal.
