Fascinating. Great find mate! So I guess perhaps some of these numbers might reveal a trigger for the score giving you some life back (and also triggering a Special Stage). What I might do today is play it in DOS and try to collect the minimum amount of score, and listen for when the "yay" happens. It could potentially be that we can score a minimum amount that doesn't trigger a special stage, meaning the death isn't needed...
That would be amazing if you find someone haha. I saw that online there is supposed to be a Debug Mode, but it appears to only be available for the Amiga version. I might try and find an Amiga emulator and the game if I can find them... so far the only Amiga emu I DID find doesn't use roms, and the games it provides/supports doesn't include Blobby.
Sadly, and I write sadly in big type, like SADLY, there was never a PC port of the game. It only released on PS3 and Xbox360. The best way to play nowadays is on a backwards compatible download of the game on an XBONE or a Series X/S. You can either pop a disc in to download the backwards compatible version, OR you can buy it digitally. I believe it is still available on the MS Store. Alternatively you could still run on 360 (or even PS3) but neither are recommended due to slow loading times (and the PS3 crashes routinely).
We would LOVE more runners so please, if this is an option open to you, do consider it! <3
If you're interested in trying Sausage Hunter but the current astronomical price being asked on Steam is (quite rightly) too much for you, reach out to myself or Mr Matt - we can help you towards more affordable options.
I have wondered this very thing. Jumping feels faster, but I've never done the actual science. I might try and get around to putting the two side by side and finding out for sure, watch this space.
I check the sausage every day to see if the price has been reduced. Sadly, no reduced sausage for us. Devs, if you are reading - I will buy 20 copies if you just lower the price back to a reasonable £0.79/$1. That's a Garlips promise. No one is buying it for £24.99, you are out of your goddamned minds.
These both make total sense to me. I'd love to do a Magister run - I did it earlier this year for the Platinum and the idea of trying to do it in one sitting is thrilling >:D
Another runner debuts on Sausage Hunter. It's a good call because it's only up from here. :P
Okay so with our recent race in the rear view, I thought it would be a good idea to list the current skips we know work, as well as craft more.
• One doorskip immediately after Sonny Tang. • Getting into the boat as the door opens to let out some more guards in the docks. • One doorskip in the first tester fight, probably better performed with the shield active, in the last level.
POTENTIALS: • Utilising the slope-cover trick to slide over gates in Back Door. • Are there any other doors we can use doorskip on? • Investigating the weird glitch where some dying bodies push Matt very fast (in my race VOD submission, 1:08:50)
