I reproduced this a few weeks ago. Cool find, but I haven't been able to find any use for it.

It might be interesting to see what happens if you manage to hit the loading zone for the tower from the out-of-bounds side.

There's no reason why you can't be the first to do so! I think it's just a coincidence that none of the past or current runners used the Xbox version.

I've been told that running the GameCube version of the game on a Wii results in the fastest loading times, and I have seen proof that GCN is faster than PS2, but I have never seen what it looks like on Xbox. Record a run and we'll find out!

Once you submit your first run, then we'll see how your emulator looks. I'll be interested to see whether it's running at the same or a similar framerate as the consoles and whether it has similar loading times between hearts.

I think your decryption of the letters in the instruction manual are an indication that you've got it right. I'm betting that the ? symbol is a Y -- this would make that string of characters spell FOURTYTWO, which is of course the answer to life, the universe, and everything. I'll keep an eye out for any other strings of characters that we might be able to decrypt to reveal other easter eggs.
