I found the date that the speedrun.com site was created. It was the 18th of November, 2015
Also the first time I officially declared that I was moderating DE (under miners) was the 30th of August, 2015 (Not sure exactly when I became mod :/)
Definitely an improvement on the idea, but I still feel pretty iffy about it
I've been narking him for a while about removing Leapless. It was just now that he decided to make a poll (after he realized that the majority of our new "Parliament" agreed)
OMG It's that guy with all the leapless world record :OooOOO why you wanna removed urself!???!?
Video or gonna leave it to the forums?
what?
They're taking it as it is (a joke / bad meme) and ur taking it as we're all retarded????
You're the one who isn't taking it seriously???
Also from your original aversion and misunderstanding of my argument about the "score" I can tell you haven't actually even looked into the site yet, and probably just took a quick glance and assumed how it did everything. Maybe I should have used the word "ranking" or "aggregation"?
I like how the only reason this argument is still going on is because you don't want to have to go to another site in order to see your times boarded. I don't see any other reason other than the idea that "Having multiple places is stupid" for this argument being continued, and I think that's funny tbh
Why we use iverb's board instead of speedrun.com
-
A moderator doesn't need to verify every single fucking run; it is linked on steam
-
Again because it's linked on steam, submission isn't necessary and one can have their times on the leaderboard by just having the time. The problem with having it on speedrun.com is that it's a hassle to submit (For quite a few speeds I at least don't submit runs until the time is really good, and I'm sure many others do as well). With this site, it'll just happen, and everyone who has runs will be on the leaderboard
-
You can't have a ranking system based on your cm abilities on speedrun.com. Nothing of that would exist on this site, but it can exist on iverb's board
Flaws in your argument:
-
It really shouldn't matter if different parts of the speedgame are in different leaderboards. If it is done in order to improve one's experience in either part, it shouldn't be complained about.
-
It's not mod abuse; if there wasn't good reason to do so, the mods would not have made it on a seperate board. There is good reason, and therefore we do it.
-
For the Chapter run thing (I don't remember if you were the one advocating it but I'll bring it up anyway), this is a dead game, and very few people who actually play this game would want to run chapter runs; It's basically the tediousness of SS combined with the difficulty of CM (Tediousness as you need to do a lot and CM as in you probably want to do it much faster). Also, no one does new things; Many people fought for Container Ride Save to be a thing, and still it isn't popular.
Hopefully you read this and understand why this is the case. I am not trying to bash you; I'm simply clarifying the issues in your argument against us in the interest of IL leaderboards
For the purposes of the leaderboard, that board is WAY better than this one. You're saying that this site is better as if the cm leaderboard would run better here. It would not run even close to the ability of that board.
(Lol this makes no sense upon rereading)
