We have runners in pre1.9, at least 4. There could be finally a category interesting and challenging for pre1.9 besides all bosses. I don't think there should be a split for 1.9+, even if the category could become "fill at least 3 portals" it would be to different from pre1.9
I also think (i didn't mentioned in the post for specific reasons) that the category should be only in hardcore mode, but i doubt it will be adopted, since there isn't a split even in the pre1.9rsg (the category that should deserve the split the most). But just to inform you: all the runner that played all portals runs decided to do it in harcore mode. In the new version of the game, and in general in the community now there is no "cult" of hardcore mode like in previous years. If you won't want to enforce hardcore (which i can understand) at least you should note in the rules "Harcore is recommended".

A few weeks ago me and my friends from the pre1.9 community got introduced by DICE to a category that already existed in the japanese community: All Portals (AP). It goes like this: you have to find and fill up all the 3 end portals before entering end, and the timer stops when you defeat the Enderdragon. You need about 40 ender eyes (you can't go in the end to farm pearls) and the average time to complete the category is ~3 hours. Currently the WR is 1h40m by Tarokitchen in Hardcore mode. The current record with video proof is by m4xx with 2h21m, but him and other runners are playing it often so the time will go down. The start is pretty similar to All Bosses since you have to get looting 3 for more pearls, (actually m4xx got AB WR while playing for AP), and you have to travel a lot to find all the portals (you also have to triangulate the third stronghold with the previous 2).
This is practical only in pre1.9 where you have 3 strongholds and the maximum range is 1200blocks from 0 0. In later versions, with 128portals in a range of 24k blocks, is pretty much impossible.
Let me know what you think of it. A lot of meme runs got added recently as category extensions, but I think this could be more interesting.
