NVS(No Village Skip) was created because the classic version of village skip was hard for beginners to perform reliably. It was created in April last year.
Classic village skip? That's right, we have a new age village skip that is far easier than the old one for beginners to do. There's now no reason to do NVS instead of Any% because they are the same category, not including village skip. NMSG still offers the village segment in the run while being different from Any%.
With the help of a video by a youtuber named mithytrix, I theorized and created a new village skip that doesn't require much explanation at all. Here is the video of it being done with ease.
This blue villager is the only npc that you can stand on top of and not get kicked off because they are too tall. Another key factor here is that they are heavy enough to not be kicked out from under you on the 9th kick. That allows you to wait during the dialogue box for Piku to stand all the way up. Then you can advance the dialogue and wait out the angry timer without being kicked away. The fly away to victory! You can do this same trick with this villager anywhere that they are in the game. They appear in EL BUNKO. As well as the lake in post game.
I thought this was kind of silly until now. I've been uncertain whether us running diagonally was actually going faster than just sprinting with only w. I timed it though and by comparison, it is slightly faster. I tested this even further though and found that if you are jumping you actually go slightly faster as well!
I've noticed that if you have a good computer and you get really high frame rates it is possible to get things in the game to move faster than they should. So far the most noticeable one for me so far is getting on the raft in Current Events with high fps can cause you to zip straight to the portal than the raft is actually capable of. People with better computers are going to have an edge on other players that don't. So I think everyone should have to show a visible start to their runs to show they're using Vsync since it is enabled upon game's launch. At least until there becomes another option available to cap the fps at 60 or the dev corrects the inconsistencies at high fps.
