How about just keep grinding and each time you fail just at the end you just save the replay.
Ok yes, we've seen "repetitive inputs before". . .
But we've also seen them on basically every single person who was ever investigated. That includes Michael, Swskrei, and a few others. (no shade) The more precise and difficult these runs get in the community, the more evidence we need from the runners that they aren't fake. I feel like it is totally realistic to ask top runners to record handcam footage. . . Maybe people below the top 5 in any category don't need to be verified or something like that.
I also think that swskrei brings up a good point about how @Sir_Farcelot clearly has experience speedrunning other games.
The only thing that makes me scratch my head is the fact that there is input after the run.
Unbelievably impressive. So enjoyable to watch! Humans are getting closer to sub 3:50...
Recording isn't to bad if you have decent software. Certain chrome extensions can do the trick. That's true for other browsers as well.
I agree with @TheGreatYoKai that maybe we could create an appel where the replay system is more sophisticated. That would probably be difficult, but it would also probably prevent more cheating. However, you still need to have enough skill to create the TAS in the first place...
lol I just came back from a break, and I see this thread where swskrei is being accused of cheating because he is too good. Swskrei is insane. He is not a cheater. Your evidence is terrible too.
Yes. Or eat least a version that lets you mash the "C" button so that you can continue.
Phew, michals run is now up and I can rest easy. (I'm glad this didn't turn into an all-out flamewar...)
@speeeeeeedy there are other mods that might be fine with the evidence provided. You are not the only one...
I've played it before, and I will most certainly play it again. It's quite a fun challenge.
@speeeeeeedy I use Chrome and I have found no differences between it and Microsoft Edge. At least in regards to Appel's gameplay. (If that helps)
I think this is a reasonable explanation. I've been using the turbowarp packager for a while now and I haven't seen any differences from the usual scratch project. (I use the NW.js Windows application) It's just a .exe file so it just copies the code from the project and runs it as a separate program that doesn't require an internet connection. I haven't seen any differences from the usual project.
I was a bit hasty in the beginning, assuming that I had never had that "Glitch" and that Michael cheated. After thinking about it for a while, I remembered something like that happened to me a while ago, but I thought nothing of it. Personally, this is not a repeatedly occurring event for me. It's probably happened once or twice. Don't ask me why it happened, I just specifically remember it happened on level 7 in a weird way.
I would agree that interpolation probably does not affect "glitches" in this game because it merely increases framerate without making the game go faster. But I can't. There have been several instances when I turned interpolation on and weird things started happening. Things like side jumping when I did a wall jump, wall jumping through walls, and other weird things. (In retrospect sometimes things like these happened in custom levels)
Ultimately I think that Michael and others have shown enough evidence to show that he is not cheating, but it really is up to the mods.
I see. This is pretty sad. The evidence does seem conclusive.
Dang it you beat mine and Kanuburgetz's time. But GG. Insanely good run.
You haven't really given a reason for why this run was taken down. I think that the evidence should be posted so that we can come to a solid conclusion.
I think this is a good idea because this game is starting to get very optimized.
