I got this when I was showing of the run at a german speedrun marathon. This is possible only when Ogre teleports close to one of the structures where he can be surrounded by pillars to combo him wall to wall. I expected a couple loops to be possible, but with that positioning this seems like a proper infinite!
Hey all! Hope you are doing well. I've been playing Devil Within the last couple weeks and had a blast with it. There is a lot of potential in this mode as a speedgame I feel so I would like to compete on a speedrun leaderboard in some way. However I am playing on Emulator, whis is banned as of now. I understand the risk which comes with allowing Emulators, especially with the main game. Nevertheless working original PS2 hardware along with some ways to record it is hard to come by. I would like to request some sort of leaderboard change where people can reasonably compete in Devil Within with the use of emulators. It could lay the foundation of more accessability, which could then lead to more discoveries and more runs. This might not happen immediately, but it would allow people to compete in the first place.

we finally have a new Leaderboard for ANGER FOOT (Steam)! Please submit all future Steam Demo runs to the new leaderboard.
Thanks Potatoes! How do we go about moving the Demo runs over? Should we reject existing Demo runs on the itch.io with the message "please submit Steam runs here"? We need to make sure people stop submitting Steam runs to the other leaderboard in some way.
Yes this is good. This time let's handle the versions and categories in a uniform way right of the bat. I wanna verify the categories we wanna create for now.
What I suggest in the order from left to right: Any% Plain Tekkies (Demo) Any% Any Shoes (Demo) All Goons Plain Tekkies (Demo) All Goons Any Shoes (Demo)
Once the full game releases we can move the demo categories to Misc. and do seperate categories with the same layout. For rulings we can mostly stick with the old ones from itch.io.
Things that are still open to discuss imo: *) Timing at the end of the run. Should time of full game runs end with the first frame of the "Thank you for Playing" screen or should it stop with the frame the ingame time stops at the final level? *) Should Any% Plain Tekkies be our new default category? Potatoes suggested this in the past and I think that would be a good decision.
I'll start moving runs once the mods agree to a common concensus. Let's make sure we all have the same idea before moving runs. Also please address any open topics I forgot for creating the leaderboard.

Potatoes and I have been talking about the best way to maintain and moderate the ANGER FOOT leaderboard on speedrun.com. It's been a long term struggle to make this leaderboard as user friendly as possible because of of how different versions and categories were created in a time where the direction the game would go to wasn't clear.
This is now the case again with ANGER FOOT being introduced on Steam. The challenge now: Every IL made on Steam Version automatically saves a second over V0.8. That is because in V0.8 there was a 1 second delay between ending a level and the ingame timer stopping. This difference now would trivialize all older IL runs when put on the same leaderboard.
The solution we agreed on: Making a new ANGER FOOT Leaderboard for the Steam Version. This leaderboard would be renamed to ANGER FOOT (itch.io) with the new one being named ANGER FOOT (Steam) to avoid confusion. We would be able to create a user friendly IL with Version changes in mind right of the bat. There will also most likely be less drastic changes to the base of the game after the release on Steam, making runs more comparable across Versions coming forward. There are more reasons on why I think this is a great idea, but this post is getting long enough as is.
This whole process is not 100% decided yet and I am still awaiting an answer from mod Dylenoyer before I press the trigger on this and make the request for a new leaderboard. I will post the link to the new page in this thread when we all agree and everything is ready to go.
Because of this, I will not be verifying Steam Version runs for this leaderboard until a definitive decision has been made. Sorry for those who have submitted Steam runs eagerly the past couple days, please bear with us!

I think this game would be a great candidate for a Category Extention page for more fun/meme categories. For example I remember Hobo doing some fun runs with Soccer% for kicks only or gunless with skullgun only and there are some other fun ideas here aswell. The Portal Extended Category page is a good example on what that could look like.

Man how did you find that clip in 3-2 Dylenoyer? I am bashing my head against some levels and I'm not finding any clips. I wonder what the conditions neccessary are for walls to be dash through-able.
Thank you for adding 0.8! I would like to request an additional category for 0.8 that only uses the default Plain Tekkies, could call it "Default Sneakers" or something like that. I would also like to request a different order in versions shown on the leaderboards. Newest versions are always the most active and should go up front, then the older versions after. Alternative categories like all goons could then be moved to a seperate misc. tab to make the leaderboard more readable. Also renaming the "Any%" leaderboard to "Any% V0.4" would clear up a lot of confusion too!

I would also like to request mod status, been running actively since 0.6 and I love watching runs, would make the verification process faster.
Nice! Yeah there are probably a huge amount of submitted runs that are not on the leaderboard rn. Got a 6:00 run a while back on V0.6 too.
6:47 full game run, mostly thanks to the new clips you guys found. Had some brain farts inbetween and a quick death, otherwise an alright run I think.
Also I would like to call those dashes through walls "Dylenoyer clips" because it sounds cool. No disrespect to you of course, Mr. MildGothDaddy.
Insane finds. I had the most luck with the 3-3 clip when I dash right after I shoot the gas canister. No need to throw the pistol. I think with that one in particular the skeleton physics interact with our collision in some way, which makes the thing work. No idea if that's true or not, I'm going with that for now.

Yeah the whole mod situation is an ongoing thing. Dylenoyer already filled out the form to request mod himself, it's a waiting game for now. Would like mod myself too.
Yeah sub 7 is definitely possible no questions asked. Got a 7:27 with one really costly death and a lot of mistakes. Got a 8:10 a couple attempts before with 3 costly deaths.
Got a couple new strats that save a couple seconds. Also getting better with dashes. But god damn I'm starting to reset a lot. Gotta force myself to make more no reset runs.
