The aim of Obscure Games Speedrun Network is to engage the interest of the speedrun community on speedrunning different obscure games in speedrun.com. Also the network is trying to make more people know the existence of some underrated games. The network will also have marathon in the future. Currently, I have two projects:
- Draw one picture that includes some famous speedrunner in speedrun.com and
- Make a complete guideline on how to survive in speedrun community (?). For example, some frequently asked questions that a lot of people do not want to keep explaining to beginner to the speedrun community. For the former, I want to get some suggestions on who I can include in the drawing. For the latter, I want to see what kind of content I can make.
I requested a game called mBlock Blockly. It has many levels. It is categorised as “Learning kids robots game“ in App Store. Official website introduces it as “users can start programming robots by playing through games” and the game let the player control a robot to complete different missions. But it is rejected with the reason that it is not a game. lol
And also I requested a game called Mario Editor with tutorial level category. The game is rejected with the same reason that the game is not a game.
Edit 1: But two games should not be rejected by the reason that they are not the games.

- Lua file in the game only works in the level, but not in the level selection. You have to use mouse to click the level.
- You have to check the key used in the lua file does not overlap the hotkey and control of the emulator.

Let leaderboard mod ban specific console emulator. For example, a game has GBA and Switch platform. I suggest leaderboard mod can choose which console emulator is banned. The current leaderboard only allowed leaderboard mod to ban all emulators or not to ban any emulator.

People can select multiple platforms when they submit the run if necessary. I think someone mentioned it before. It is very useful for multi-game leaderboard.

I am always rejected from many communities. I know I have the ability to complete the job but people don't choose me. To encourage myself, I always say to myself that that is their loss if they don't choose me. I don't actually know what the proper way to handle frustration is. I always doubt my ability. I want to hear the advice from other people.

This question has always been in mind and actually I still don't know the answer. Btw I am NOT talking about site moderator in src but the individual community discord server which is about either speedrunning or not speedrunning. But if possible, I want to hear from site moderator too.
How long does it take to clean the cache of the leaderboard moderator username? Because some leaderboard still show PikAsriel (my former former username) early today. Do I have to do anything to clean the cache by myself?
Can moderation hub have a function that allow the leaderboard moderator to edit the reject reason? :/

First, I don't understand why there are just two site moderators. Only they handle the site stuff and the efficiency is obviously low. Not to mention, they are in the similar time zone and sometimes it is impossible to contact them immediately. Elo earns a lot of money from making advertisement on src but why cannot they just open the piggy bank and recruit more moderators. Apart from the efficiency, sometimes there are only 2 moderators who made the decision specifically they also mentioned that they were also busy. It may make the users wait for the respond from the site staff for endless time.
Secondly, for the mod ban thing. We did not know that thing existed before we even get banned. Mod ban itself is very subjective. And mod unban is very subjective too. It is very easy for some people to get mod whitelisted but it is very hard for some people to get mod whitelisted no matter how many things they have done. For me, I have not done anything that is against the moderation rule for a long time and I send countless mod ban appeal. But I get 0 respond from the site staff. There is no a clear requirement of getting mod whitelisted and there is no standard of getting mod banned.
Back to the question I asked in forum a long time ago. "Will I get mod unbanned before 2022?". My answer is no because of the currently situation of the poor site management of the site. I think that src should provide a comfortable environment for the speedrunner. But after seeing the complain of the site update of src in the forum, I think that the environment of src is worse than before src get acquired by an advertising company that only cares about money but not the community itself.

I hope that the "Other", "Give feedback", "Report a bug", etc tickets can be seen in pending actions after the ticket is submitted.
Then I hope the support hub support the leaderboard / series name adjustment in "Request Adjustment To Current Game" in "Game & Series Request". It is because I always have to use "Other" in support hub to submit the leaderboard name adjustment request.
I am curious about one thing. Why are there still so many bots in the website? The website has reCAPTCHA to protect the website from being attacked by the bots. I think site moderators should think an effective method to solve this problem instead of only making a thread for the people to report the bot.

But I want the moderator to answer if the above Action Replay code is allowed to be used to bypass the black screen in emulator. (because the game is unplayable without bypassing the black screen in emulator)
Also even the game can be played with an on-screen keyboard after bypassing the black screen, I am wondering if it is allowed to use lua file to use PC keyboard to do the typing in game. (The lua file can be found somewhere in the internet. But because of legal reasons, I cannot link it here)
Suggestion if emulator and Action Replay code are allowed to be used:
- Allow lua file: Using mouse to click the button in the on-screen keyboard in the emulator is hard if we do not allow lua file.
- Not allow lua file: If we allow using lua file because some buttons in the keyboard in the game overlaps the control of the emulator. E.g. X button is used for pressing A in DS in Desmume at default but X button is used for beating some of the levels in the game. If we allow lua file, we need to require the runners to turn off all hotkeys to prevent the runner pressing hotkey when they type the keyboard during the run. For example, N button is used for frame advance in Desmume at default but pressing N button is required to beat the levels in the game at the same time.
To be easier to understand: Lua file can make the game be able to emulate the original nintendo wireless keyboard with PC keyboard. Most of the buttons in nintendo wireless keyboard are required to use to complete the game. Pressing the button in PC keyboard will both emulate the nintendo wireless keyboard and function the hotkey or the control of Desmume at the same time.
I want to be a better leaderboard moderator and want to hear from other moderators about their ideas / opinion on how to be a good leaderboard moderator. Thank you.
