the criteria for games to be accepted has changed a lot since PSS was accepted 4 years ago

like @Timmiluvs said, most 2600 games are high score based, and the ones with ends (like adventure for example) are on the site. If there are others that have ending that you want on the site you can do a run and request it, however most of the ones that are based off of score are better kept to sites like Cyberscore.

pick a game you like playing and do runs of it, one of my earliest games I did runs of was Luigi's Mansion simply because I liked Luigi's Mansion

Game requests have been changing over the past few months and certain game types such as "Idle games" are no longer being accepted unless they are otherwise notable. For example if Cookie Clicker were requested now, it probably would not be accepted onto the site.

The issue is not in the category you are requesting being singleplayer, it's in the fact that 99% of the games popularity is in multiplayer. For example, the Overwatch leaderboard use to just be speedrunning the tutorial (also not a very good speedrun and would not be added onto the site with new rules) and there was no PvP categories, but over time they added more and more that were PvP related.

So the issue isn't with the run itself being a singleplayer run, but with the games community more than likely adding multiplayer categories over time.

And yes, site mods know it exists and have had lengthy discussions with other members of the speedrun community who have made the same arguments and claims as you have been.

I'd love to see just dungeon runs being added here. Just something as simple as category: dungeon, sub-category: floor x. No real restrictions to it, just get a group of 5 and run through the dungeon, IGT instead of real time. I know for most of the top players in dungeons time is very competitive

I guess I never answered this, but I thought I did. So here we go

When I was like 12-13-ish me and my friends grinded Black Ops 2 on the Xbox 360. We got pretty good and wanted to try and play competitive (the ranked mode mostly) so we thought of a "team name" we could use. We decided on DarQ for really no reason and we also all wanted to go by something with an M at the start, for no reason. So I went with "Massacres" because haha edgy 13 year old stuff and I carried it throughout gaming.

Recently I've changed a lot of my names on things to be "F8_DarQ" as none of my friends use the DarQ name anymore and I joined an esports team called "Figure 8" F8 for short. Haven't decided if I want to change my name on here yet to that or not, but I may someday.

There is a very long queue of game requests to be handled at the moment but rest assured we are working as best as we can to get through them quickly and efficiently :D

There was a surge in popularity mostly over the Youtuber and WR holder for some categories "Dream" as his channel has gotten a lot of attention the past couple months. (I play a lot of minecraft ok it's not a problem)

as long as you just add a timer and do not change the actual run then it should be fine with most leaderboards

With the Pandemic going on there has been an influx of requests for games, causing for there to be a major backlog in game requests, but rest assured we are working through them as fast as we can.

if what you mean is that you would do a run of East Blue easy and wanted to submit just East Blue 2 as an IL, the timing method would be the same.
