@Rash I decided to wait since they had been somewhat active (they also appear somewhat active on twitter since they've been responding to reply tweets) and they have been verifying runs as late as May 26th. I will send them a tweet and try moving this along sooner then.
@KuripuGao I've fulfilled your request for Indecision, as for Besiege the super mod appears active on twitter you might want to attempt to reach out to them that way first.
@Rash Well they haven't been inactive on site very long (a week), we will keep this in mind though if they do come back online and still haven't verified your run (or remain inactive) we'll move things along. For now, just hold out.
@sto1cRose Supernoah93 isn't inactive yet, if possible try to reach out to them because for now they haven't reached that point of 21 days to be considered inactive. Also, we usually do not fulfill "verifier" requests, as you cannot self-verify runs.
@Lizstar Seems fine, I've added you.
@Z4T0X Everything checks out, I've gone ahead and added you to the board.
@Komrade It's not feedback relating to the rules, I just said to move this discussion into another thread.
@Personman My post to Krayzar goes into this a bit, my example has only rarely been used as far as I know and the current rule isn't clear whatsoever over this. Chances are you don't need to worry about it at all, if we find the game is acceptable we'll process it and you'll know within a reasonable amount of time.
@jellyd0ts I found it aggressive because it wasn't in any form constructive criticism, users are wrongly interpreting the rules which is our fault but it is no excuse to lash out.
As for everything else, like I said there are a million factors that contributes to forming a community but I am a strong firm believer that a leaderboard by itself will never do that job for anyone at all but were not here to argue about this. If you'd like make another thread for discussion on this topic. Maybe a leaderboard helps, maybe it doesn't, either way the number of communities on the site that are non-existent out weight the ones that somewhat exist.
Regarding the rules; people are interpreting it wrongly, some of it isn't clear or make complete sense either we are already aware about the choice of wording and were going to eventually alter a handful of things (seriously, how did people use Super Mario Bros as an example at all? I've been seeing that one tossed around for some strange reason).
The last one we actually just talked about in a recent discussion, that one is going to get rewritten entirely but I believe originally that specific one was for extremely obscure games where it could get accepted/rejected (in the middle) so we would end up trying to see if they had some kind of community backing and before anyone even argues this, yes people have provided their resources of showing us others have run their game which contributes to the decision.
I disagree with you, and this is coming from someone who has been around speedrunning since the "golden age" era. (Edit: Apparently people have taken this first sentence out of context, I'm referring to 2011-2013 when speedrunners at the time would simply just stream all their attempts, eventually they inspired people to run their games. The best they had was skype to build their communities, leaderboards were fairly minor. I understand the importance of them today but I still believe people are focusing too much on the "advertising" aspect of a leaderboard).
A leaderboard means nothing in your context, if you are looking to advertise your work in a run then you are doing it wrong. A leaderboard also does not build a community (seriously, I'm sure you can find dozens and dozens of boards on the site with non-existent communities), sometimes a community just doesn't form or simply takes years there's so many factors with this we'll be here talking about it all day. I've noticed there seems to be this mindset though going around for awhile, people think a leaderboard changes all this...
As for your last statement, perhaps the choice of words in the rules are a bit poor but no offense coming off aggressive doesn't do you any good. It's fine if people want to provide criticism but this isn't a good way to go about it.
In defense of GBA, the mGBA core is considered the most accurate at this time (but its still not as close to say NES/GB/SNES). Avoid VBA at all costs.
I'll post this since people seem to be having trouble understanding the point of this thread and I didn't think posting would be really needed. To clarify, I've been keeping the thread clean personally for the most part and this very thing is mentioned in the first post of this thread.
The objective in this thread is for users to request moderation for leaderboards, this is done between staff and the user, whatever is decided with staff is the final say in the matter. If a 3rd party decides they want to get involved and contribute to the decision between the two parties it has to benefit towards it. We don't want anyone's opinions or views on how something is being handled or discussed with the party, we don't care for the pointless arguments either, take it outside this thread and make a new thread but don't bloat up this thread any longer. The original thread had 400 posts, nearly 200 of those is just a bunch of pointless discussion, arguments and people intervening with staff over every single little thing and this was part of the reason we rebooted the thread along with the new rules now in place. It was hard on us trying to get to people in the old thread and trying to see who was even requesting moderation for a game when other users were getting in the middle of things and completely derailing the thread, some users didn't even get their request fulfilled and they had to sometimes post multiple times to get our attention.
Were not going to babysit anyone, if people cannot respect and understand this we'll start getting serious with users, do not post in this thread if it isn't requesting moderator status for a leaderboard. If you have questions or want to bring up a discussion about something not relating to the moderation requests of the two parties please feel free to make a thread about it.
@Carter44 You have one run for one board, both of these mods seem to be on all the games and have been inactive. I would assume these games are similar to one another in nature. However, I will grant you moderator for all the boards I won't add you as series mod but I will remove the existing series mod. Leopold67 will remain for their respected game but I did add you along side him as well as they aren't inactive.
The reason for the series mod removal is due to inactivity, the series doesn't appear to warrant a series mod at this time. I have also gone out of the way to remove that run.

ADMIN UPDATE 4/14/2021 With the release of the Support Hub, all request should now be submitted through the Support Hub.
Adjusting Game Information (Game Type, To Be Part of Series, Other) - https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub/game-adjustment
Platform Request - https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub/request-platform
PREVIOUS MESSAGE: Requesting platforms
If there are any platforms not currently in the list on the site that you would like to add games for, let us know in this thread so we can add them. For a full list of supported platforms, check out the sidebar on the Games page when sorted by platform.
As of now, platforms that are used by less than 2% of the games on the site, will be considered obscure. This means that they will hidden on the Edit Game page by default.
Showing obscure platforms can be toggled using the Show/Hide obscure button on the Edit Game page.
Requesting "to be part of series" game
You may also post here to report/request a game to be part of a game series as long as you have contacted and have approval of/from a game leaderboard/series moderator. If you cannot provide evidence of approval please have these moderators of the game and/or series post here. If you are a game or series moderator you may request here without going through this process, and as such when doing so please provide a reliable source so that we can verify that it belongs within that series. For new series requests, please send them to the game request form and mark them as "series".
Requesting Game Types
These can be found within "Edit Game" if you are moderator of the board, however they can only be set by site staff; Content Mods, Full-Mods and Admins. Generally we try to set the game type after accepting a leaderboard request.
• ROM Hack - This type indicates the original game has been modified. • Modification - This type indicates that PC games have been modified of its original game. • Fangame - This type indicates that it is a game that was created using another IP. (Psycho Waluigi for example) • Webgame - This type generally indicates browser/web/flash games. • Prerelease - This type generally indicates that the game has been released early, usually demos/betas. • Mobile - This type indicates phone games; Android, Apple, etc. • Expansion/DLC - This type indicates downloadable content, addons or something that extends the game with new content. • Category Extension - This type indicates secondary game leaderboards meant to have categories that do not fit within the main games leaderboard. • Multi-game - This type indicates that multiple games are being played. • Minigame/Gamemode - This type indicates that a mode in the game is played and focused on as opposed to the entire game. • Server/Map - This type indicates that it is a custom server or map that has been modified or user-created.
Adjusting Game Title If you require the title of a game you moderate be adjusted, that can be done here. NOTE: If you are requesting a game's title be changed to something else, please explain why this is required and link to any relevant sources to backup any information you provide to us.
Adjusting Series Details If a series is without moderation and requires changes to any details (new Discord invite, theme needs an update) you may request it in this topic.
@deluxerus I was not aware of that person not doing a 24-hour marathon, I originally thought they were doing a self-hosting marathon where they played the games however like I said I was not aware of the fact that they did not maintain the marathon to be at least a day minimum after their marathon was accepted here.
This is why we are trying to put more care into the acceptance of these marathons, though in terms of your marathon request if the marathon cannot last for a full day we aren't accepting it. We rather not be making the same mistakes again as per the previous request, obviously I'm aware you can't guarantee anything but at the moment I am discussing this with other site staff about how we want to start handling future requests and where users can potentially report marathons not following a small set of guidelines.
As soon as something is agreed upon we'll see what we can do.
@Shanekilz Have you contacted any of the mods from the original game? Would be preferred if one of them are onboard with this.
@deluxerus @Daravae I removed the "Night of The Horror" marathon. Barely over 12 hours does not warrant a marathon page, a marathon should at least be for a full day (that is also not a self-hosting marathon where you would do all the runs).
Update on this; I moved this entire discussion to the staff and we had a chat about it for a good awhile, so here is what we did and planning to do;
We renamed "Oculus Rift" to "Oculus VR", this applies to all Oculus devices (Samsung, Rift, Rift S, Go and The Quest).
However, we did agree that at a later time if more people requested The Quest (and the whole VR scene grows out) to be its own independent listing due to not only its hardware and capabilities but its potential to be something worth adding.
I realize these are not the exact type of expectations wanting to be met but its something we are being careful about regarding the future and other future VR devices.
We'll have to wait and see what the future brings, seems to me it's still a bit too early for it to be warranted being added.
This is my problem;
"On Oculus Connect 2018, Zuckerberg revealed that the Oculus Rift, the Oculus Go and the Oculus Quest are considered to be the company's first generation of products, expecting new iterations of the three to be developed for a second generation of the company's technology"
They are planning to create sub-products of these, this is why I used the examples such as smartphones and tablets (Amazon Fire tablets scream to me, how far Oculus is going to go with this is unknown but we know they are planning a second-generation and here is my Amazon Fire example; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Fire_tablet#Generations). I'm not in favor of having to add later ones using a similar platform.
I would be more willing to rebrand the platform we have on here from Oculus Rift to Oculus VR so that it ends up appealing to all present and future devices....the only issue with this is that now there isn't a way to separate submissions from people running the game. PS4Pro is actually the platform being used for PSVR for reference. The simplest solution around this issue would be to apply a filter to submissions, or until it becomes much easier to navigate through the platform list on SRC.
This is currently the middle-ground with this and the most were currently willing to go. It's a positive that this thing is getting a set of games made for the device but the above is the halting issue.
We'll wait off on this addition at this time. I wouldn't also mind hearing some input from the moderators of Supershot VR.
