I've thought of this route idea but I thought it had been timed before. Basically, instead of grabbing both wall badge and triple badge in the beginning, you only grab wall badge at the start and you grab the triple badge once you revisit overworld 2. The main timesave from this comes from the 64 extra seconds it takes to grab the chuckya and bring it up to the top. However, the lack of a triple jump causes timeloss in overworld 3, and you need to go to overworld 3 before revisiting overworld 2 as you need the ultra badge and the green switch to complete overworld 2. I thought that these timelosses were too much and that grabbing the chuckya would be faster. However, with making no mistakes on either side, not doing the chuckya clip is a whopping 3 seconds faster (https://gyazo.com/3551133ce32941205b9c291ca0e3205a). However, I feel that this new route could be slower, as the 3 seconds could've been minor mistakes, and also I didn't consider the decimal position, as when I started this, I thought the answer would be much more clear.

Here's why I will run with the new route over the old route, though: 1: The old route is only faster if you get the triple jump for the star "Fake" in FC first try, which is inconsistent 2: If you mess up the chuckya clip somehow, either with getting light chuckya or dying after the clip, you lose over a minute and your run is dead.

I posted splits for this new route in the resources section on speedrun.com

First of all, I know about OSSC and Framemeister. I don't have the money to pay for those. All I'm looking for is a converter that converts component from my wii to hdmi to feed into my capture card. I've been using a sketchy solution but I'd like to know the proper way to do things.

NOTES: I am not able to use a wii u, because of personal reasons and that I use my wii to capture gamecube games, also, with my setup it needs to either be external (takes component input instead of directly from wii, so I can split the component output into my CRT) or automatically add black bars (my hdtv stretches 4:3 signals). I'd prefer the latter as it would allow me to use progressive scan.

Every time I make a youtube link it results in a huge unwanted embed that clogs up my post. Is there any way to have the link be clickable but also not embedded?

I'm going to post all new (or unused I don't know what people have found in the past) strats or comparisons I find in this post (by replying to it) I just feel like otherwise I'll clog up these forums

Strat list: Long jump in Towers (131 star) | () | 5/29/2020 Wallkick before triple jump in towers (130/131 star) | () | 5/29/2020 Using a jumpkick instead of a slidekick to skip the door | () | 5/29/2020

Notes: It's probably faster to do slide after OW3, then go to OW2 and finish it up, and then once you're done with VOTMW, go to FFF.

The reason I included the one that's not faster is that if you were able to clip in to the ultra block before you get the badge in 130/131, it might be slightly faster, since you need to wallkick up there anyway.

Today I found a new trick that allows you to skip most star doors in the game (the 10, 20, 25, 33 55, 70 (the textbox mainly), and the 75 star door. Here's the trick in action https://gyazo.com/7a0dfb2265544711451920336fea8cf3

Here's the catch: I could only get this trick to work on version 1.1 If it was possible to do this on 1.0, we could use the BLJ to skip the 50 star door. However, we cannot, due to the BLJ patch added in 1.1. So we need to find another way to skip the 50 star door (so we can get the green switch). It's possible to get every other badge (methods shown after this paragraph) with only 0 stars (although if you need the super badge it probably would be faster to grab the fortress star). And it's already known that you can skip the 85 star door. As well, I found a place where you could skip the 40 star door in 1.1

Badges: Super Badge: Use the backflip trick to get through the 10 and 20 star door, then get the super badge as normal Wall Badge: Use the super badge to get into OW2 and use the backflip trick to get in the door, and then get the badge normally Ultra Badge: Get a few firsties in between hot blue mountain and the 50 star door to get on top of the ledge and then go to icy temple of time 2 and get the badge Triple Badge: Same as normal except backflip trick into the level.

Will you make a seperate leaderboard for 2.0.0 times like Odyssey did for 1.2.0? Because I don't want to always have a bad time due to updating because I want to play as a new character.

My idea for a category is escape% but you have to starslide onto the thing, and not the regular escape% route. The starslide requires 30 stars, and when I tried to route the run, it seemed pretty fun, and interesting to run. The reason it's 30/31 is that if you get starslide before you go into the temple of time, it is 31 stars, but if you get it after, it's 30 stars.
