What does the current rules say about this command, or rather, what should they say about it?

With r_portal_use_pvs_optimization set to 0 (default is 1) the game renders polygons/objects even if the camera/player is out-of-bounds. So instead of seeing nothing/black or the screen filled with another random color, you can see objects and things even if you are OOB. Compare and

ontrigger used r_portal_use_pvs_optimization 0 in his (accepeted) WR of Beat Part 2, so before there are additional runs submitted using this command I think that we should discuss whether to allow it or not and update the rules. It is allowed in the Portal 2 No SLA OOB category (and maybe other games/categories?).

There is also the command r_novis 1, which I think has the same result. But maybe there are more differences that I'm not aware of?

Anyway, what do all of you think? I'm in favor of allowing the command, as the route doesn't change (as of now). My current Beat Part 2 uses the same route as ontrigger's, but the screen is just filled with yellow/orange color for 3+ minutes while I navigate blind using x,y,z position information... and that's not very fun to watch.

Can we / someone setup a Discord? Or perhaps use the official INFRA Discord and ask them to create a speedrun channel? Would be nice to be able to discuss things, like the new skip OnTrigger made in part 2 that I want to ask him about :D
