I havent submitted a RE4 run in like at least a year, and when i did run it was on console.. question is is it typical for a run to take 2-3 weeks to be verified here? If thats how it is thats how it is. I will run this game regardless, but for my own peace of mind in the future when i submit again, should i expect to wait this long? This isnt a complaint, this is a question. Thank you for your time

Im eventually going to make a single video for each difficulty when it comes to segmented individual level speedruns. The only way to do this submission wise is to reject/delete my current runs that are accepted and re-submit them with the new video. Besides a lot of work for me the only issue with this is you guys following the game are going to get a bunch of notifications. I know its going to annoy some people so im just apologizing in advance. Sorry. Im gonna delete this post after i finish my last video for segmented individual levels.

Since we (moderators) discovered that a couple runners have been playing the game on the G4WL version the question of if it should be allowed has been asked multiple times. We have been back and forth on this as a whole but we recently decided that it would be better for all if the version is banned. First off its an outdated version of the game. Patches have been made that change certain aspects of the game, which is the version all steam players have to play on. Also getting RE5 to work on G4WL is rather difficult and buggy. Snow tried for over 30 minutes to log in and just keep getting an error code. The players that have been playing on this version of the game are not being accused of cheating, but all runs that are proven to be played on the G4WL version of RE5 will be rejected. No grandfathering in runs. Also certain runs are going to be rejected that did not show difficulty at the start of there runs for legitimacy reasons. Considering that G4WL is a outdated, pre-patched version of the game the gives the runner an unfair advantage when it comes to the legitimacy of speedrunning RE5 we should of banned it when we first found out.. ALL feedback is welcomed, including MissEllie and RuuDela's, the two G4WL runners. All PC runners for RE5 must run the game on Steam, which is what 95% + of speedrunners currently do (All but two people), and runners suspected of playing on G4WL must include the screen where "Leaderboards", "Play Game", and "Records" are displayed to prove they are on steam. Runs will not be accepted if this is not done.

Just today I made a guide, which is under Guides on the webset, explaining in detail all the checkpoints in the game that are worth resetting. This guide will be game changing for new runners. Over 2 minutes are saved if all resets are done correctly. There is no easier way to save time in RE5 than resetting the right checkpoints. It literally takes no skill to stop, pause, and reset. The guide takes less than 10 minutes to read and covers nearly everything. Reading it will be worth the time.

Just today i got the Xbox One X. Within ten minutes it became real obvious it was a big upgrade from my old original Xbox One. I'm sure the same could be said for ps4 and ps4 plus. entering and exiting your inventory is much faster, cut scene skips are smoother, and every load time feels as if its cut in half. to any runners looking for a competitive edge id suggest buying a newer version of your console. it really does make a difference. in the 23 minute run that is know as Separate Ways + id guess there is roughly 55 seconds of time save when comparing my Xbox One to my Xbox One X. this is ALOT of time lol

Danschemen has been on top of verifying runs. Much appreciated. Great job!

For the single segment level leaderboards what would be considered a tactical reset? If there's a way to reset without hurting the legitimacy of the run to save time I want to do it

Two days ago i was messaged by someone known as fireblast. Now as im sure all of you know lots and lots of hours go into getting theses runs completed, so being called a cheater for simply beating someones time is, well, unsettling to say the least. Ive put much more time into RE4 than i have in RE5, and in my opinion my RE4 runs are way more impressive than anything ive done in RE5, but noone accuses of cheating in that game. My point is that me and RE_Snow ARE NOT cheating to beat these times. We are working, practicing, grinding for these times just like everyone else. Calling someone a loser for beating your time is so childish.. so naive and ignorant. Im making this public because im not gonna let being called a cheater and a loser stand. Not now, not ever

I'm trying to use the method i see the majority of the fastest runners using and it simply isnt working. My first thought was it was a console thing but the 5th place runner in this category played on Xbox One as well and he did it the same way 1st-4th did... I shot the one granado outside 7 times, killing him and then do the menuing where items are moved around and a granade is equipped. I run into the cutscene building and throw the granade out the little peep hole thing which triggers another cutscene just before/after the shotgun is picked up. Then i grab the granade behind the glass in the cabinet and run downstairs and jump out the window. When i turn to the left to kill the last granados to end the fight instead of seeing 10+ there is only 3. Out of at least 10 attempts ive only seen the correct amount of people once. What am i doing wrong!?

I've been noticing a dramatic difference in enemy behavior between these two runs. I was wondering if anyone had any clarification as to why. I can only think its d.a figuring how my normal Separate Ways runs are sloppier and have more mistakes than my SW+ runs, but I'm not sure. I first noticed the difference in chapter 4 before the battle ship area when it was seemingly harder to bait enemies into attacks and easier to just run past them without getting hit. For example the tall intimidating armored enemy with the long metal weapon at the start of chapter 4 wouldn't even swing until I was half-past him, but in SW+ he was a must dodge kind of guy. I'm trying to come up with a consistent strat for this run and the different enemy behavior compared to what I'm used to in SW+ is making it difficult. Any knowledge as to why they're behaving differently and/or how to make them behave the same way every time is much appreciated :).
