If you are going through steam, follow these steps:

click on the settings icon in steam (the one to the very left in this image)

properties

betas

beta participation and select previous_version

hopefully this works, and if you would like to go back to the original version, click on "none" after you have selected "previous_version" there might be a different way, but this is what i found out.
