Hey guys,
We have decided to add glitchless categories to TPE and Neutral to give more variation to Undertale speedrunning. Hope some of the current runners and new ones will enjoy having new routes and using old strategies we had back in the day!
Please do keep in mind that when you are submitting your run, you will have to select between an Any % sub-category or Glitchless category. It will save us time verifying your run if you do this :) . If you're not sure how it looks on the submit run page, see the picture below.
Cheers,
- Sapper
Hey everyone,
We've been working hard recently to get our Games Done Quick submission ready for this week, and we were informed today by a GDQ representative that they will not be allowing any submissions of Undertale for SGDQ 2016.
We're heartbroken about this as a lot of us were looking forward to July coming around. This is a decision made by Toby Fox himself and we have decided to not argue and make a claim. If any conversation is to be made about this, please keep it in the forum in a civil and respectable matter. We do not want to create any drama outside of the Undertale speed run community as it does not help our situation.
We also do ask our community to not make submissions on our behalf as it would be a waste of time for both the hard working GDQ organizers and the person submitting.
Cheers,
- Sapper
Toby Fox recently released a patch that addresses bugs within the game, including some of the exploits that are used in the TPE and Neutral categories. The community has decided that we are to continue running version 1.0 unless a glitch is discovered within the new patch allowing for speed run times to be faster.
If you own the Steam version, view this video on how to return back to v1.0.
At this moment, we do not believe the DRM free version has a method of reverting to an older version of the game.
We will be continuing to accept runs for version 1.001, but if you're looking to become competitive in the categories it is recommended to revert to the previous version.
[A faster version of v1.001 has been released. Read this: http://www.speedrun.com/undertale/thread/gvkrv for more information.]
Thank you for your attention on the matter.
