So I just reproduced it pretty easily. One thing though... It seems to bring back the normal behaviour you have to quit out the game. I'm not quite sure if only the current area is affected. Also upon closing the game, it crashed on me.

I just accidentally found that you can freeze all enemies, not only on the current screen, completely. You can see me do it here:

I've not tried to reproduce it, but it doesn't seem to be that hard to pull off once you have Mirabras. I don't know if that also works on bosses.

My best guess is, that immediately going back into the menu and switching the chant keeps the game thinking we're in the menu for selecting to go back to the city.
