Hi, assuming you did not die nor reload checkpoint, then this is the only load you will have (and thus the timer would only stop there which would be what is expected)

Hi, yes you do need 13 splits, I assume you are probably missing the "Prologue" one. If you add one more split then the timer will end at the correct point.

I don't think it would be interesting because you can very easily suicide in this game, so it would just be the guy with the fastest computer (less lag) that would get WR. If suicide wasn't allowed, then it would be a matter of hoping other players will kill you fast. In agar.io you die by going inside other players. If you go into other player lines in splix.io they die. The closest to agar.io's 10 deaths is probably 10 kills in splix.io as what you have to do (Run into other players) is pretty similar.

So I will not add it for now, but I'm still open to discution if you realy think it should be added anyways.

I'm hosting Garry's Mod servers on Soyoustart Game servers, and it works perfectly for my needs. Soyoustart is a cheaper branch of OVH.

I would advise against hosting a game server at home. Sooner or latter someone is going to send a DDoS attack your way, especially in gaming communities. The day that happen not only your server will be down but your whole internet as well.

Depends on what exactly you are willing to do. If you want to record locally on the iPhone, and you don't want to/can't Jailbreak then AirShou. If you can jailbreak, Shou from Cydia (It is different than AirShou)

If you want to record on your PC, then you can use the integrated AirPlay feature on the phone, and use something like LonelyScreen on your PC (There is a lot of AirPlay servers for PC, but LonelyScreen is the one I know because it's free.)

Hi,

So I've noticed a small problem with the leaderboard of Nintendogs. We are two runners (for now) and the other runner is the moderator.

I submitted runs with an european version of the game (The other runner with an USA one) and then I got JPN version because text in the contests is faster. I made a new run with that which was obviously better than my previous one due to the faster text. I submitted it and the mod accepted it, but now there is a problem with the leaderboard. Here is a screenshoot : http://puu.sh/sgH3p/b9348e402e.jpg

As you can see, my name is in it twice : My new run with JPN as 1st place, and my old run with EUR on 3rd place but with a - symbole instead of "3rd" next to it. I also see both of these runs in my profile page without clicking on "Show obselete runs"

The problem might get even worse as the other runner bought JPN version too and he'll get it soon probably.

Is there a setting the moderator can change in the leaderboard settings for this to stop hapenning ? We have a discord and we are both on it so communication with him if he needs to make changes to fix that should be easy.

Thanks for your answers.

This website is a leaderboard for speedruns, the person that created the game is definitly not going to look here. You might have some chances on the official reddit here : https://www.reddit.com/r/splix/

It was definitly using the homebrew to delete the save that made that save longer. I deleted the save normally using the in game function to check and now that save is normal.

thread: Nintendogs
Basse-Normandie, FranceArnold07 years ago

Well I'll try using the in game save deletion instead of the homebrew next time to see it it makes any differance and i'll report back ;)

Hi,

I wanted to compare my run with the WR video just for fun but after a short time I noticed something very wierd Here is a video : As you can see my save took a lot more time than the save on the WR video. The next saves however were the exact same length. Any idea what could do that ? Not that it realy matter it would just be interesting to know.

I used an homebrew on my 3DS to delete the save because my DSi L/R buttons are broken and using the homebrew deletes the save far faster than the delete save feature of the game itself. I wonder it that might be the cause of that longer first save ? (PS : I didn't use the 3DS for the run cause restarting a DS game on it is very slow)

Toughts ?

"Where the heck do china and arnold live at?! Digged a hole to the nearest university internet cable and connected to it?! WTF xD " I'm in France and the city is Caen. It's one of the few French cities that will have 100% optical fiber coverage at the end of 2016.

It's the menu glitch. If you look closely to your video you can notice the Flee option was there and you moved down onto it but it spared. It has something to do with inputting Down and Z too fast or something like that. You could've fleed next turn if you tried it.

Hi,

While looking at what other speedgame does as categories, I actualy had an idea that could work great for Undertale. Some games uses an "Level Leaderboard" where the runners run only a specific level or part of the game.

I think this could actualy be used with Undertale. Some people might not have enough time to do a full run (And the time differance between a normal run and NG+ isn't that big) nor want to deal with extreme RNG like Frisk%. People might just want to do something short.

So there is what I'm thinking about : Adding Level Leaderboards and have in 5 categories :

  • Ruins
  • Snowdin
  • Waterfall
  • Hotlands
  • Core (And Maybe add a 6th one for true lab ?)

How would it works : For Ruins the timer would start upon starting the game, and ends after you exit the last ruins room (The one before UNDERTALE appears)

For Snowdin you would start as soon as you start moving in the very first room after exiting the ruins (A save file in this room made with debug mode could be used to actualy start in this room) and ends after leaving the last room before Waterfall (The one where you fight Papyrus)

For Waterfall you would start in the very first room after papyrus fight (A save to start in this room could be made with debug mode) and finish after leaving the room at the end of Undyne chase (I consider that Undyne should be included in Waterfall even if the ends of the chase is in the start of Hotlands)

For Hotlands you would start in the first room after the end of the Undyne chase (The room just before Alphys lab. A save can be made here easily as there is a save star in this room.) and finish when you enter the MTT Hotel with your C/Ctrl menu Working. The used save Items would contain a Punch Card to be able to perform PCE related glitches.

For Core you would start in the MTT Hotel room (A save can be made here easily with the save star.) and finish when entering the door after Asgore fight. The save would be based on an NG+ Save so Monstertale can be mashed and you wont do the flowey fight, while still fighting Asgore. The save Items would contain a Punch card for PCE. You would have the Pan and Appron equipped and start with LV4 frisk to make this part similar to the end of a Neutral NG+ run. (Frisk LV and equipped items could be discussed because I think you might not agree with that point of view here)

In case you also add True Lab it would probably start in the elevator that lost power (Save in there with debug mode) and finish at the last toriel text just before the credits. The inventory would contain a punch card for PCE, you would've Apron and Pan equipped and of corse Frisk at LV1.

I think that could be great. You want to do something short ? Pick one of these instead of a full run. You don't have enought time to do a full run but still want to do something related to Undertale speedrunning ? You could do those as well. They could also be used to practice a part of the game and sill participating in the leaderboards and the community by submitting these runs.

Can I have your toughts ?

Also unrelated to that, using Level Leaderboard for Temmie Colege% and Lesser Dog% would probably be a good idea, as both are not full game runs.

Thanks for you consideration, have fun running and getting WR (Or not ;) ) Sorry for very long message too.

It's no even useful to have that much, my computer hardware actually limits the speed when I download stuff.

Hi,

I've updated my launcher. I was like "copying NG+ save is great, but when I want to practice Asgore I stull need to copy the save manualy..." so here comes the update! Instead of being able to copy a single save, it can now copy up to 10 different saves.

How to set it up : Instead of using a NGPlusSave folder we just use a save folder. Inside of that folder, we can create up to ten folders, numbered from 0 to 9. Inside of each numbered folder, you put your save file, and a name.txt file that you can create to name your save (what you write inside will be displayed when doing the save selection). With that you can practice Ice Puzzle skip, then do some PCE practice, then do Asgore practice then install NG+ save and do a NG+ run without ever needing to go inside of the appdata folder yourself. Here a screen of how it's set up and the result : http://puu.sh/rdlwb/6221cf4885.png

Hi,

I was bored and had nothing to do, so I did that : http://puu.sh/rbxnn/e964b62df9.png

It's a .bat file but with multiple functionnality.

You can use it to true reset or automatically install a NG+ save file, without needing to go into the appdata folder to do it yourself, then start the game either once or in a loop (As soon as the game closes it restart itself). You can also reset or install NG+ save and not start the game. It works with Windows or Linux version of the game (It'll ask you once what version you use, then will write a file to remember it next time you open it) It also detect if your game contains the steam_api.dll file and warn you if there is. It includes a feature that deletes it.

For this to work you need to put it inside of your undertale folder. For the NG+ install function to work you need to create a NGPlusSave folder in your undertale folder, and put the NG+ save you want to use inside. It's that save that will be copied when you use NG+ save installation.

The question is : Are some people interested by something like this ? Should I post it in "tools" ? For now here is a link to get it : https://arnold0.com/uploads/undertalelauncher.bat PS : You can right click on it and edit to see the code. I don't care. Maybe the code is ugly or unoptimized but I do with my knowledge.

You could but I don't think it's gonna be allowed if what I did isn't as it is basicaly the same thing.

thread: Undertale
Basse-Normandie, FranceArnold07 years ago

Well I kinda expected that, but I tryed it because I had nothing to loose, it didn't took long to make and if it was going to be allowed than I could've made something usefull. Maybe next time for something usefull (Likely never ._.)
