(not that new since I recommended similar things a few years back, just fleshing them out more)

Damageless - Complete a run without taking any damage. "Damage" would just be whenever the yellow border surrounds the germ (so soap/mouthwash would not count as damage). This one might be possible, the only part that I'm not sure about are the bloodstream sections since the macrophages constantly attack the germ. Damageless is most likely possible in Nelson & Dump-it, but trumpet & crumpet bloodstreams would be the most difficult as the B-cell glitch would still allow for macrophages to attack you, so a different strategy is needed there.

100% - Collect all of the bonuses in the Gain Entry/Lungs sections (bonuses in bloodstream spawn constantly at random intervals, so that section would play as normal). This type of run is possible and would probably add about 2-3 minutes to the any% time, mainly due to the GE sections having a lot of bonuses to collect. The only section that wouldn't change is Dump-it lungs, since there are no bonuses to collect there as far as I'm aware.

I think these categories could be interesting since both would require new strategies/routes to be implemented. I've considered bringing back the "Glitchless" category within any%, but the already existing glitches (besides resize glitch) don't save that much time compared to a glitchless run. If there's enough demand for these (really only 1 or 2 other people) then i'll add these categories

Discovered this glitch earlier today while I was messing around with the play/loop/forward/back buttons in the flash player. Interesting glitch that could possibly save time but currently not sure.

To perform the glitch, once you finish any character's lung section, on the "Round 1 Gain Entry" screen, right click and click the "Back" button (alternatively right click and press the b key). Once you do this, the initial ruff cutscene will appear. It will appear as though the game went back to the 1st stage of nelson, but once you start the stage you'll notice that whatever particles were there (snot/tears/earwax) are all replaced with the spit and mouthwash from nelson!

Here's some things I found/noted while messing around with this glitch:

  • If done quick enough, this glitch can definitely save time in the ear since the spit is easy to move through compared to the earwax, saving some time from having to go around some groups of earwax. My best guess is it could save up to 5 seconds in the ear, however I haven't tested it enough to know for sure.

  • The glitch may save time in the eye, however it may make the stage more difficult since the spit has a bigger hitbox compared to the tears, and while it's easier to move through, it causes some normally tight sections to be virtually impossible to get through without tanking some slowdowns from the spit. The main time save in the eye would be the skip at the end since you can move through the spit quicker, but at that point I don't think you would be saving any time due to all the spit you had to run through earlier. I can also say pretty confidently that the glitch won't save any time in the nose since there aren't any skips in the nose anyway.

  • When trying this glitch at the end of the bloodstream sections, it seems to have no effect other than just taking longer to start each section since it forces the zoom in cutscene to play (which normally only happens at the start of each GE)

I'll add some more edits below if I find anything else interesting related to this glitch but in short: I think the glitch at best can probably save 5 seconds in the ear, which doesn't sound like much but is pretty significant when you're talking about a speedrun that's only slightly longer than 10 minutes. However, it does add some difficulty since you have to click the necessary buttons fairly quickly in order to save time.

Hi. Been a while since I posted here. Mainly was just busy with school (and other life things) and forgot about this game for over 2 years. Just here to post a small update since there's probably only 1 or 2 other people reading this anyway.

I recently got back into doing runs of this game and I was able to push my PB down to a 10:33. I'm not going to upload it though since I want to see if I can try and get a sub-10:30 (also didn't really like the quality of the run either). I think for this game, around 10:26-10:28 is probably the fastest a human can do it. The main thing that makes it extremely difficult though is soap RNG (especially in the eye & ear) killing a lot of runs for me, so a 10:26-10:28 would require basically perfect rng/movement in all of the GE sections and insanely good movement in the lungs (since I found that some lung sections like dump-it and trumpet can be very punishing if you don't have good movement). The fastest pace run I was able to get was a 10:30 going into the ear, so I think sub-10:30 is barely possible with good enough movement and RNG. My best guess is with a TAS, 10:25 is probably possible, but I haven't tried making one for this game so it's possible there's some undiscovered TAS-only glitch that saves a lot of time.

As for the leaderboards, I'll probably leave the category names the same since last time I updated those it hid all of the runs from the leaderboard so I had to manually update everyone's runs to the new categories. Maybe that was fixed recently but I don't want to take any risks, so for now "Web" will just be runs without the resize glitch (which is done by resizing the window of the game in flashpoint disabling collisions) and "Emulator" will be runs with the resize glitch.

Also updating the guide since some of the screenshots seem to not load properly anymore and some info is outdated. That's all for now, maybe expect a new world record soon!

So it looks like some time ago, the official website for fetch with ruff ruffman games was removed and was replaced by games from the team hamster spinoff. Thankfully all of the games on the original website were preserved on flashpoint, but now using web to play these games is impossible (well you can but on external sites that don't load the games properly). The original site was up at least on January 15 (last screenshot i have), but web runs are now officially dead. Might make some changes to the leaderboard in the future because of this.

Edit: he's not streaming germinator anymore, he will stream it again when I get 10k channel points and redeem the choose another game reward. https://www.twitch.tv/baahblo

(For context, "fast intro" is just what I call the skip at the beginning of the game where you remove the spit on the first stage)

While I was messing around with germinator, what I found is instead of right-clicking then moving your mouse to click the play button, you can instead right-click, then press p+enter really fast. This method doesn't require you to move your mouse over to the play button, which saves some time depending on how you do it. However, after you right-click you can't move your mouse, otherwise, it won't work. This is a difficult trick but is slightly faster for anyone who wants to go for the fastest starts. Here's a video of me showing how to do the trick (first I do the old way then I do the new way).

(volume is really low for some reason, just turn it up)

Hopefully this helps anyone who is following this game or anyone who might find this in the future

Update: Found a way to do it but it affects your whole computer. Basically, it's just switching WASD to do what the arrow keys do

  1. Download AutoHotkey - https://www.autohotkey.com/download/ahk-install.exe

  2. Go to your desktop/laptop home screen, Right-click then hover over "New" and click AutoHotkey script

  3. Right-click the .ahk file that appears then click Edit Script

  4. Input the following: w::Up a::Left s::Down d::Right

  5. Save the file, then double-click the file (or right-click and click run script). WASD will now do what the arrow keys should do, and you should be able to play germinator while using WASD

  6. To disable it, go to the bottom right of your desktop where a green H should be, right-click that then click "Pause script" or "Exit".

NOTE: The regular arrow keys will still function the same as normal (so you'll have 2 sets of them I guess). Also, remember that this affects your entire pc so just know how to disable it. Also also, you can change these keybinds as well if you don't like WASD for some reason, Just change the WASD on the left to whatever you want for the corresponding arrow key. if it's not a letter, go to the AutoHotkey application and search for "list of keys"

Edit: Method I posted here 2 days ago breaks the game for some reason. here's a video to disable the chrome auto-update, if none of them work let me know and I'll find another solution

Here's the older method for running flash games if you forgot or are new here: (do the above stuff after you did this)

Around the end of Trumpet eye, there is a section where you have to zig-zag around some tears to reach the end. There is a similar skip where at the last row, you can go around the left-most tear and save a couple of seconds. However, this new way is where you go in between 2 tears in the second row shown below https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/389041691442806787/825878591383535637/Capture.PNG

This skip is quite risky, and once you perform it, will leave you with very little energy left. However, compared to the last skip, it saves about 2 seconds. It could save more but this would probably be what you save. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/389041691442806787/825879714782642216/image0.PNG (Left is with new skip, right is with old skip)

Hopefully, this helps any runners out. Let me know if you have any improvements to this or thoughts about it.

Basically, throughout the whole run, you cannot take damage. "Damage" in this game would be any time where the germ is surrounded with a yellow outline and loses energy. So that means soap and mouthwash would not count as damage since you don't actually lose energy. Let me know if you would want this to become a category

This is the first WR, by NoiceName. In crumpet bloodstream he avoids the B-cells and macrophages in the beginning but gets hit by them later which could mean that damageless is possible.

Sorry I have been inactive for so long. came back to see someone beat the web world record! Sadly since flash is gone all future runs will be in any%- emulator, so Baahblo has the web world record indefinitely (unless there is somehow a way to play on the web version)

New York, USAApeirogon4 years ago

Since the web version will be shut down in 2 months, im going to split the emulator version into 2 subcategories (no resize and resize) since all runners will have to switch to emulator by 2021. I will also split the any% - web into a different category to archive it, and any% will just become the emulator version. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions.

(Also im going to try and finish the trumpet and crumpet routes soon)

New York, USAApeirogon4 years ago

So I found this glitch today while experimenting with the game and I found out a glitch that uses play/loop to allow you to become invincible in the bloodstream sections. This works in all sections, which helps cut down time on trumpet/crumpet’s bloodstreams.

When your transitioning from GE to bloodstream section (the bloodstream explanation screen), right click the game then click the “play” option. Immediately after you’ll notice a “Get to the bloodstream” mini-screen appears. When it does, hold the up and right arrows, you will hear the bloodstream music (technically it’s dog ears music) play. Click continue (while still holding the up and right keys), and you’ll notice that the B-cells and macrophages are moving up out of the map. This is because the game thinks your slightly higher then the bounds of the map, which messes with the B-cells and prevents them from shooting you. Keep holding up and right until you are almost at the end, then progress as you usually would.

Something to note: if you stop holding the up key, the B-cells will start attacking you normally. If you stop holding the right key, the B-cells stop spawning entirely (This has only occurred once for me, I don’t know if it’s something you can do consistently)

MAJOR UPDATE: Found out you don’t need to do any of that, you literally just need to hold up and right.

New York, USAApeirogon4 years ago

Merged the any% and any% resize categories into 1 category, with 2 subcategories (web and emulator, where emulator is the flashpoint version or any other flash emulator)

New York, USAApeirogon5 years ago

Basically just any% but you have to collect all of the bonuses (Is this possible?). It doesn’t add too much but it could make for some alternative routes, especially in the lungs. What do you guys think about this?

New York, USAApeirogon5 years ago

(If preformed well, this glitch can save <1 minute is regular runs)

In the flashpoint version, there is a glitch where if you resize the germinator tab, collisions are disabled. This means that the GE and bloodstream sections of every character are essentially a straight dash to the end. For the lungs section, you will have to resize the tab back to the default since you need to have target cell collision.

EDIT: Switched this glitch over to a subcategory per request to not cause confusion. Also I noticed that the unnamed objects in crumpet ear strangely have collision, maybe this can be used for something?

New York, USAApeirogon5 years ago

I tried to download the game using a tutorial I found, but the downloadable version is broken (game does not progress after nelson mouth). Seems like the game won't live after 2020. Unless there is an alternative way to download it, or somebody can remake the game in HTML5.

I think I’ll try to improve this game a little more, Like adding some game rules, a picture to replace the ?, etc. Hopefully I will make a good moderator for this game.

New York, USAApeirogon5 years ago

Idk I’m bored so I’m gonna try and speedrun all the games at once.

Games I will not include:

Geyser surpriser (you can’t beat it I think) Dish it out (you can’t beat it) FETCHER 101 (not really beatable) Go green (you can’t beat it I think) Draw that habitat ( a drawing game) Spyhounds (not on the fetch website) Monumental mini golf (requires the unity plugin)

I guess I’ll come back when I’m done

EDIT: found multiple glitches in some games, I’ll list them here

In link-o-vision, clicking on the next level button 5 times really fast can take you to level 6 (the last level), skipping most of the game

You can softlock dog pound 1 by using the play/loop glitch. If >9 questions are being loaded, the game softlocks. This doesn’t work on dog pound 2 and 3 (it might but I don’t know).

In the CSI games, you can beat the games in 20 seconds or less by using the play/loop glitch. Keep clicking the play option and you will beat the game in 15-20 seconds.

In disco fiasco, you can skip the first level by using the play/loop glitch. Click play when the first level shows up and it skips it. This does not work on the next levels (as far as I know).

In Robot ROVER, if you run out of battery as you go into ruffs house, the run out of battery message doesn’t appear (sometimes).

In geyser surpriser (not a game that I ran), you can skip the tutorial (geyser setup), using the play/loop glitch

Ok so I just found this today and I don’t really know how it works so I’m just gonna explain

Click play to view the beginning cutscene. Now right click and then uncheck the loop option and click the play option. Notice how ruff is not speaking during this time. Now right click and click the play option again. It shows you to get to dump-it’s nose?

And also you can move your character without leaving this screen. After clicking play on the screen, it will show you getting to Nelson’s mouth, but the mucus particles copied themselves on to the Nelson GE. The game plays out normally from here, but I don’t really know too much about it right now, so I’ll update this if I find new things.

EDIT: The get to x response varies I don’t know why
