Karik, don't worry about scaring people off, even with current RTA that doesn't have any penalties doesn't attract many people. Racing speedruns are a niche category anyway – most people associate speedrunning with a red Italian screaming "HOOO" and "WOHOOOO" every two seconds for 90 minutes straight. I mean, even if it's just us both racing for the 1st place in each category, that's still fine. ;)

Let's not overcomplicate this; if someone loses 3 minutes because of a DNF, the run is dead anyway. I'd still go with no restarts :)

Okay, I personally think IGT without restart is the best thing, but let's see what Karik thinks about it :)

Okay, how about RTA w/o loads? The biggest issue, the loading times, would be gone, but we still have RTA. Only problem would be for the moderators to time it, I guess.

RTA doesn't make much sense with such differences in loading time, I personally would get rid of it. If there's no RTA, it's way easier to time the whole run because then only the driving counts. So yeah, kill RTA, pretty please :D

Yeah, would be great :P

'Extreme' is recommended to get more reputation points in the beginning, later in the Global stage you can switch back to 'Basic'.

Sorry, my internet connection is currently not good enough for that, which might change over the course of this year, but right now I can only do YT videos :/

I got a route figured out already and will test it very soon, but I guess playing about 12 hours non-stop will be the biggest challenge, hehe.

All right, thanks for your reply and the rule changes :) I recently completed a run without unlocking the Tournament of Champions and it still took me nine hours, to I expect a 100% run to take about 12 to 13 hours (ouch).

Hi,

Since I plan to speedrun this game very soon, I have some questions:

When does the timer start? On the first race or when you create a new career file? (both are specified in the rules)

Is there any reason why the bonus cars (Camaro, Porsche, La Nina) are forbidden in Career mode? In the end, you still have to win them in the Pro Cups before you can use them.

Also, would it make sense to split the Career mode into Any% and 100%? Any% would be finishing every Cup/Tour (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) except the Tournament of Champions. 100% is finishing every Cup/Tour on Gold, including the Tournament of Champions.

Cheers!
