(1) All other runs have the timer.

Because something has always been done wrong is not a "good reason" to continue doing it wrong

(2) Another good reason is that a timer has been the standard for these runs.

Same argument, same response

In contrast, there are many reasons to not require a timer (besides the obvious "it's what every other RTA game does and it's literally in site rules")

(1) Not everyone can add a timer.

It requires a relatively complex setup. Need OBS or a desktop capturing device. Need a timer, such as googling "timer" and having it always on screen, or having to add it as a new capture source. Set up livesplit or flitter.

While you may be familiar with how to set up one of these, it's not reasonable to expect everyone to be. It is much easier to capture just the game. There are many programs out there that let you only capture one program at a time, because really you might not want to have your whole computer on video. Video capture cards also work like this, where they only capture the game / console, and no timer since consoles generally do not have timers

(2) As a verifier you should not trust, rely, or even use a runner provided timer

There are innocent reasons as to not do so. First of all, runners are not frame perfect as to when they start and stop, leading to inaccurate time measurements

But more importantly, a malicious runner may employ techniques to fake a given timer subtly. The most obvious way is probably just slowing it down a bit. In the short term it may not make a difference, but over the course of a full run it does

Likewise with the description provided timer information. That's just easier to straight up lie

In conclusion, there are good reasons why every RTA game operates this way, and no real reason I can see to not do so for MvC2

Hmmm. I want to say yes, given the rule page for it links directly to the glitched rules

https://mcbe.wtf/rules/catext/beta/

Though it does mention "rsg" (Random Seed Glitchless).

(That whole line should probably be reworded or removed some time)

The rules for Pre-1.0.4 are also a bit unclear, but I'd also assume glitched Any%

It's a mix of a couple of reasons. For one the game runs during loading screens sometimes, so retiming it manually is not practical. No one has made a load remover yet, and if they did realistically it would only work on Windows 11, and bedrock runs on many more platforms. So for consistency and simplicity RTA is used

Yes. The game updates constantly and so does world generation. The same seed on the same version on the same platform should lead to the same world. If the version gets updated the seed will not lead to the same world anymore

RTA is used for all categories on Minecraft Bedrock and it's category extension page

  • Submit your run under the host’s platform.

The relevant part of the rules is here

Again, we aim for 3 weeks, so 10 days is perfectly within that target. No need to be impatient

The quality of the run is not that relevant to how difficult it is. As long as it's roughly 30 fps and you can clearly see all the wood items it's perfectly ok. It just takes time due to the size of the queue and availability of the examinerse

Anyway, I took a look at your run as well

ValhallaAnInternetTroll5 months ago

Hi. As a policy we try to aim for a 3 week maximum wait time. Of course it depends on the availability of moderators and other factors, so this target isn't always met.

In any case, I examined your runs. Thanks for letting us know

No. In addition touch screen players do not compete with Console or PC players

We do allow a limited set of key bindings, which you can read about in the rules

https://mcbe.wtf/rules/global/#:~:text=A%20key,crouch

I believe a couple runners use https://github.com/keymapperorg/KeyMapper but you'd have to ask them for instructions or help not covered through their official documentation

@TrulyZoomin That achievement is not required for completing 100% category. Check out the rules

I am pretty sure they used a video editor after recording the run

ValhallaAnInternetTroll6 months ago

Hi, the rules as of now do not allow the use of copying worlds. All worlds must be newly created

All videos must show the world creation process and the runner entering the newly created world.

Not posting a 3 letter post is literally 1984 smh. Now the fat cats will get so much more money because I have to type 4 letters at least for every forum post

Oh how you showed it to them by editing your post first! GG Well Played

Did you really get the game through the way described in the article above? Because that doesn't look like an error that would show up normally

I've tested this on Android 15 (Google Pixel 9) with version 943160002, which should be close enough to your phone (both devices seem to be arm64-v8a)

What is the concrete error you are getting?

What Minecraft version, Android version, and mobile device does this issue occur on?

Lately it's been difficult to run old versions of the game on recent Androids

This guide-thing may help you out with that
