In my opinion, just respawning at a hard save should be allowed. It is consistent with "before making any progress" after all. Since you could just die to the devout in Beast's Den, for example, and collect your shade "before making any progress" and that would amount to the same.

For context, I've made my own All Skills Lantern Route here: https://pastebin.com/w3SJfqyE but the geo routing might not be optimal, some other All Skills Lantern runs I've seen use different geo sources, from different Relics, selling to Lemm at different times (one sold to Lemm so late that they could only get Lantern after having to do the CPeak darkroom to DDark), and I even saw one that did Mantis Lords for the geo. So I'm wondering what other routes exist and what different geo sources can be used
