Load Time Removal Setup

Hey all,

With the help of our good friend VeritasDL there is now a fully functional script for removing load times available for Livesplit. This should greatly even the playing field for all runners.

Keep in mind that this script does not autosplit, it only times IGT.

To setup the script properly:

  1. Install Livesplit 1.6.9 or later (downloading official release will always be this).
  2. Right click > Edit Splits
  3. Enter "Transistor" as Game Name.
  4. Click "Activate" to enable Load Removal.
  5. Set Livesplit to compare against Game Time (right click > compare against).
  6. Enjoy your Load Time Removal!

Livesplit can be downloaded here: http://livesplit.org/downloads/

[big]Troubleshooting:[/big] My timer isn't pausing when loading! There is a chance that the script will not work if you start Livesplit before starting Transistor. If this happens, deactivate the script, and re-activate it again, and that should fix it.

EDIT: No longer requires dev build or Scriptable Auto Splitter. EDIT 2: Edited for clarity.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to write about this, but I followed all the steps in this guide, and no matter what I do it just ignores the script and works as a usual real time timer. I tried reinstalling both transistor and livesplit, activating the script before starting the game and activating it after starting the game, but just as I go to a loading point, nothing happens. And I'm using the Steam version if that matters. strangely enough the scripts for other games work just fine. If it's inappropriate to write about this in this thread, I'll delete this post and start a new thread.

This is absolutely the right place to ask about this.

Can't say I have a direct solution for you though, as it should work "out of the box", so to speak. If you're absolutely sure that every setting is correct, then where are you testing the timer? I ask because there are some screens which you may think are loading screens, but actually aren't (it's easiest to just load between two profiles, since it'll always load there).

If I recall correctly, there was mention of problems with a 32-bit version of the game, I think, so if you could force launch 64-bit version, that might fix it?

Just let me know if nothing helps and I'll try to look more into it.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I've tested the load removal on my PC and laptop, and they are both 64-bit and so far I couldn't get any results. I also tried to run the game from the 64 and 32-bit version executables separately on both of them. I have created a separate profile for testing right before the Bracket Towers Concourse as I have an almost 5 seconds long loading screen there and I think it is counted as a loading screen (checked it on Cadarev's twitch video of his speedrun). I'll try to check any other variants of launching today, but I don't have too high hopes for that. Still thanks for the info!

Sorry for late reply.

Honestly, it seems like you've tried just about everything, and I can't seem to think of any reason why it wouldn't work (since other scripts work I assume it's nothing as simple as forgetting to compare to Game Time). What I find even weirder is the fact that it doesn't work on neither your PC nor your laptop.

Maybe try the developer version of Livesplit and see if that makes any difference (with the scriptable auto-splitter and such)?

Otherwise, I'm sorry.

Well haven't written here in a while. Just an update though I had a hard disk failure less than a month ago and had to fully reinstall my Windows OS, and tried to check if the autosplitter works on the fresh system, and it actually does. I still don't have any idea as to why it didn't work before, but maybe there was an inner conflict somewhere, so if anyone runs into the same issue I had, maybe a fresh install of Windows can help for some! Anyway as it works now I might post a run this or next month, which I'm super happy about!
