Hello again everyone,

The rule changes have been deployed outside of some slight tweaks and formatting. The rules and categories have been rewritten to bring them up to modern speedrunning standards while also hopefully making them more comprehensive and easier to understand. The most major changes were those in regards to emulation. A lot has changed with emulation in the past decade, and I talked with a couple of people I know that moderate other speedrun.com pages to come up with a framework that keeps things both accessible and fair.

I tried to keep as many emulators available to use as possible, but some are either too inaccurate or are too easy to gain an unfair advantage with. The usable emulators will require varying degrees of proof of the emulator's settings, and you can find this information here. Any information related to your emulator should be read and followed carefully to ensure your run submission doesn't get rejected.

Unfortunately, due to the changes to emulation standards the leaderboard needs to be scrubbed. Both existing and pending runs will be removed from all categories to ensure the fairest playing field moving forward. Apologies for the inconvenience and frustration this likely causes, however with these new guidelines in place it should never be a problem again.
