I was actually playing on the Switch remake and I'm just assuming that this works in the original, but I was sucking up the rug that you can fall through after the plant nursery and I somehow got teleported to the floor below without the animation playing. When I went back up and exited the plant nursery, my game crashed.

It was the first mission and that's how I sucked up the rug.

Mm yes the problem was because you were sucking up the rug WHILE falling through it.
