is the GB faster then GBC or is GBC faster then GB?

I would say GBC, I play on BGB and when I set the emu to GB mode I get small lag spikes while when set to GBC mode it runs at full speed 100% of the time.

probably will keep running on browser until it's proven to be legitimately worse. The only issue I could see is load times, browser runs great in-level but sometimes screens seem to load inconsistently. it's possible that this problem would persist in a GBC or GB emulator, but it's also possible that it wouldn't so idk
