Cannon/Smash boosting

You can cancel the smash attack and the cannon shot with a roll in order to gain momentum. And you can keep momentum by bunnyhopping. (Hopping as soon as you hit the ground.) If you don't jump as soon as possible, you'll lose almost all your speed.

The timing for rolling out of smash is very quick, whilst out of a cannon shot you have to wait for (Or just before) the cannon shot.

I'm also bad at explaining.

For Resist%, All splits up to Dominion should be the same. At that point, R1 has been completed - you can choose to burn the 3 shards then, or wait until after you've collected more - just realize you will need to burn all 7 for the Resist ending. Most runs will probably do this in two trips, so burning the first 3 after Dominion will make the rest of the route safer.

For Embrace%, it's useful to include embracing skills in the route - especially if you aren't planning on going back through later. Here's some general recommendations (needs to be tweaked) built off the Any% route above:

General Skill Routing Guidelines
- Before R1 Mask, grab both Energy Regen nodes, and 15% Luck
- Try to grab chests along the way in early route. Shoot for 5k shards before Mask (even after investing shards)
- After Mask (in order of priority, the order you get in each set is up to you) (i need to update this with what I have been using lately)
  - Get 15% damage before Dominion. Save perk slot 2 for after him unless you already have sharp edge.
  - No more than 4 energy
  - Focus on Crit, Crit damage nodes before Dominion/Hysteria
  - Armor, 40 Shield upgrades after Dominion, en route to Hysteria
  - 60 Shield, Shield delay upgrades help with Rivalry bullet spam. Focus on damage nodes otherwise.
- Save perk slot 3 for after Rivalry, and only if you have three perks worth using together

Perk combo suggestions/notes:

Sharp Edge "feels" like more of a boost early game. Assassin shines more when you have 200% or higher crit damage, and already have 15-20% base crit. I will take Sharp Edge over Assassin up to Dominion, then decide what to do from there based on perk availability.

- Dominion: 1 slot, Nemesis
- Dominion: 2 slots, Sharp Edge + Nemesis
- Hysteria: 1 slot, Nemesis
- Hysteria: 2 slots, Sharp Edge/Assassin + Nemesis
- South Lock: Berserk + Sharp Edge/Assassin/Shield Piercer
- Rivalry: Sharp Edge/Assassin + Steel Spine
- Hordes: Berserk + Life Absorb + Steel Spine
- Final boss: Sharp Edge/Assassin + Steel Spine + Rebirth

It is a bit outdated (Sanctuary has different symbol for example, and perk and their locations mentioned have been changed), but still has generally correct information

Edit: With the Finisher update, the above guide is still fairly good but is not really outdated.

Region 1:
1. West Power is now right after next to the door that needs power to continue upward.

2. Jump ability room now exits to the path that leads to the green East power area instead of the Vista.

3. Area around the East power area is fairly changed. No longer go down -> right to get to the gun, but now right -> down.

Region 2:
1. Horde fight at the bottom of the Vista room no longer has breakables that may have healing pots.

Region 3:
1. Elder Fragment has moved from Top left of the map next to the top most west elevator exit, and is below ability lock
that leads to the endless horde area in the bottom right.

[section=Region 1 (First Pass)]

 - Try to avoid picking up any perks (Health charm, random corrupted treasure, or the boss drops). Need to have as small as possible for faster Nemesis Rank 2. 
 - Still deciding if Corrupted Treasure in this area is worth it. Need to make a talent calculator to see how much to get how far in the talent tree is.
 - No need to unlock the door after grabbing Jump. As soon as you have control, pause and Return to Sanctuary (RTS). Unlock the door to your left as you drop down for your path to Region 2 so you don't have to wait for it to open later. 
 - After turning on East Power, skip miniboss, but make sure to unlock shortcut door to make getting back to the fight later easier, and then go back the way you came and leave through the bottom right exit to skip having to get the gun. 
 - After getting into Elder Fragment area before Region 1, unlock the door that leads down before grabbing Elder Fragment and RTS

**[big]__Walkthrough:**[/big]__
1. After falling from Sanctuary, head to the right and drop to the vista. Hug a bit closer to the right when falling to try and make it a straight fall.
2. After you drop from the vista, stay on the top platforms on the shield room as you approach the ability.
3. Grab **Shield** and make your way all the way to the east power station, skipping Perk, and hit it to activate. Stay at the top and try and kill all the meteorites as fast as possible. Then drop down and kill the scouts.
4. Once door opens, make way to Ball miniboss, not hitting any shards in the crystal room as the cause a slowdown.
5. ** Post link to boss fight tips here** - Essentially never stop hitting, and keep it in a corner.
6. Continue on to grab **Jump**, then RTS.
7. Open the door to the left when you drop down from Sanctuary, and then head into Green area and circle around to activate East Power. Don't fight mech, but do open shortcut.
8. Head back the way you came to now active door to the right of the last green room, and get inside the faciility. Will  be able to head towards the Boss room from here.
9. Climb to the top of the laser room from the start, do dash then jump to make it over the gap, hit the switch to open the door, grab the Eldershard, and then RTS.
10. Head left after dropping down from Sanctuary, and heads towards Region 2.

-After getting the Elder Fragment, do a roll into an up attack. That should give you enough distance to get into the Purple area without having to get Smash first, and avoid the Horde fight before.
- After getting Dash, leave the room to the right until it is off-screen, then head right back to get the best thing in the game.
- Should be able to now backtrack and take an ability locked room to the south and then get the Smash ability. From here, you can either backtrack a bit again and keep going down and avoid the hoard fight if you have enough experience, or unlock the door and do the horde right for experience. Either or, need to grab rebirth before RTS.
- With Rebirth equipped, go and get the Nemesis Perk at the end of the Endless Hoards path, then die at least once to get the experience from all the crawlers. Can either keep trying to fight them for more experience, or RTS.

**[big]__Walkthrough:**[/big]__
1. After getting into Region 2, be sure to open the door to Sanctuary first thing. If for some reason you had a hard trip, RTS as soon as the lock icon dims to heal up.
2. Make your way through to the Crystal room as normal, opening up the shortcut to the Vista room.
3. Slide down the right side of the wall to grab the elder fragment (easiest if you have a spare double jump to use to get in the hidey hole.
4. After grabbing the Elder Fragment, dodge roll right next to the the exit and then do an up-attack in the air to get across the gap. Should land on a platform right above the purple area's entrance. Enter it to skip having to do the horde fight.
5. Continue through this area being careful, you are really underleveled. But get through it and grab the **Dash** ability. After getting it, run east until the room leaves the screen, so you can then go and **Embrace** the ability.
6. Back track a bit further into the previous purple room, and then go south. Ideally should be simple to know based of the rooms you were in before.
7. Pass the ability locked room to the south, should then be able to head East to get the **Smash** ability.
8. If you are good on experience, back track again and keep heading south to get the **Rebirth** Perk, or if you need more for the Luck Perk, can open the shortcut back to the Vista room and then go all the way down to fight the Horde.Once you've gotten the Perk, RTS
	8a. If going inside, it is better to just go straight down into the Perk room instead of going through the lock first, then heading down from there into the Perk room.
	8b. If attempting the horde fight, focus on the Screamers first. Jump between them with refreshed double jumps and dashes and always stay out of reach of rest of the horde. After they are all dead, try and kill the crawlers why they are trying to get up the wall.
9. Equip the Rebirth Perk for safety, and make your way down to the closest Endless Horde area. This is the one to the right of the room below the Region 1 entrance. After you pick up the perk at the end and you haven't died, feel free to let yourself get caught to kill all the crawlers for their exp before RTS.
10. Done with the area for now, head up towards the Region 3 entrance.

- Starting off when you get next to the elevator, you are just wanting to go up all the way. Thankfully, you have an embraced Dash to help with that. Abuse it like it costed you your soul. Can get pass any lock that needs Boots with Embraced Dash.
- Once you get to the fourth elevator stop, make sure you have the elevator unlocked, then fall down to get that steel spine perk. Will help with early farming later.
- Don't need to grab the west lock just yet for the final boss. It is faster to grab it right before doing the boss right.
- After grabbing the north lock, just RTS. No need to grab final elevator or elder fragment above.
- Grabbing boots on the way, just so we can get the extra perk slot later.
- After grabbing East Lock, unlock the elevator that connects to the rest, and then go to the Corrupted Treasure fight club to the East. It is sure to be there, and is able to be taken out fairly easily with Rebirth. Only thing you have to fight are the left over sentinels if you can make the Golden Shrub appear before dying.
- Keep farming that spot until 2 conditions are met.
	1. Talents listed above are acquired.
	2. Nemesis Rank 2 is acquired (Swap steel spine to nemesis after Armor perk is obtained to make easier (Hopefully).)
- Jury is still out if the extra Miniboss fights from this point on are work it, but boy does it make end game easy.

**[big]__Walkthrough:**[/big]__
1. Like when you entered Region 2 for the first time, unlock the shortcut back to Sanctuary first thing.
2. Jump up to the left of the first elevator and use Embrace Dash to skip everything to the right. This will be the theme of this entire region. 
3. At the third elevator, head right to continue heading hope. The boots are not necessary to continue progression upwards, and running on walls isn't really that much faster than just blinking straight up or wall jumping. 
4. At fourth elevator, fall down to grab the Steel spine. This is best defensive perk in the game imo, and will help with farming later. 
5. At fifth elevator, grab the **Hook** before it, but not the West lock. Can just grab that right before the boss and it is a bit out of the way.
6. After unlocking North gate, RTS back and then ride elevator back to third elevator to then begin heading right.
7. Grab the **Boots** as you pass them, but skip the south lock. The way enemies stagger themselves, it is not worth it to try and kill them with the Rebirth perk.
8. Continue to the East Lock as normal, unlock it, and then unlock the elevator that connects to the rest. Will be using this for farming.
9. Until you have both Nemesis rank 2 and the Talents listed above, continue to farm the corrupted treasure challenge to the East of the East Lock. Nemesis Rank 2 is the more important out of those 2, but will need the talents if you are going for the Minibosses. Swap Steel spine for Nemesis once you get the 30% armor perk
10. Swap Rebirth for Steel Spine, and kill the Sentinel miniboss to start off the Boss Rush. Once dead, RTS and head back over to Region 3.

[section=Region 2 (Final Pass)]

1. Head back towards the Nemesis Endless Horde area, but take the south Ability Locked exit, and head towards the Tentacles Miniboss. He's next on the list.
2. After killing him, don't RTS and just head west towards the Vista room. Unlock the door and enter the purple area properly for the first time.
3. In the purple area, start heading up towards the ability locked door to the left and then towards the boss room. Feel free to unlock the safety shortcut back to the boss in case of any unexpected hammers.
4. After killing the boss, drop down into Region 1

- The shortcut you opened pays off, unlike what I did in my first submitted run, and you can destroy the mech easily before jumping down and running to kill the first boss.
- After killing the region 1 boss, before running off to region 3, destroy the 3 elder shards you have right now. Not going to come back again after you get the 4th from last boss so now's your chance.
- After the Resist Talents, start picking up talents based on the list above. Try and get the easiest obtainable ones first as well.

1. Head back to the green area, and make use of that short cut you opened up so long ago.
2. Kill the mech miniboss you skipped before for much greater rewards, and then head towards the main boss.
3. Kill the boss, but don't head to region 3 just yet. Head to the resist furnace to get rid of those heavy Elder Shards you have. Once you are 3 shards lighter, head for Region 3

[section=Region 3 (Final Pass)]

- Don't forget to hit the West Lock to open up the boss, and then roll in to finish up the Regions.

**[big]__Walkthrough:**[/big]__
1. Headback to where you got your boots, and show that horde you don't need rebirth to win a fight anymore. If fight causes you to use a health pot, RTS. Either way, the 5th elevator is your next stop.
2. After you get out of the elevator, break the final lock and jump inside the boss room to finish him off as well.
3. Once done with the 3 bosses, jump into Nether.

- Biggest strategy here is hope for a good stages for the horde fights.
	Region 1 - Best is the ones with the scouts in un-powered area. Stay on the pipe on the top right and kill meteorites, then jump down and clean up the scouts.
	Region 2 - Either area is okay, but crawler is better imo. Stay in corner until cultist give you trouble. Go deal with them then repeat.
	Region 3 - The area similar to the farming from earlier is best. Just kill as fast as possible.
- After finishing the Horde rush and it loads the next area, RTS to spend the last of the exp and equip the final perks. Then go finish the game and get your PB WR.

**[big]__Walkthrough:**[/big]__
1. Hope you got some of the recommended Perks while farming/killing bosses, cause they can help out a lot in this area. Just simple kill all the horde as fast as possible. I've considered RTS and trying again whenever I get the Wyrm Region 1 area instead of the Scout one.
2. After done with the Horde fights, RTS to switch to appropriate Perks and jump back in to kill the Final Boss.
3. Stop time after you lose control of your character.
