Pasteless Mines Guide + Tutorial Video (1/29/2019)
Updated 5 years ago by Chikorita

Quick summary - Current run duplicates certain items so you can sell them to buy stone (for staircases). You also need to manually keep track of how much mining experience you have (you need level 2 mining to make staircases).

Sleep Skip can be done by doing "left alt + enter" though my video tutorial doesn't do this.

Mining Level 2 requires 380 experience. Rock experience can be found at the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Mining You need to manually keep track of your experience as best you can.

Manually type in the below information (DON'T PASTE!!!! This is the Pasteless category so you need to show the information being input.)

File Creation Screen - Name [417]%farm Farm Name [226][689][688]

Select "Hill-top" for farm type. Leave skip intro "off" (do NOT check the box).

DAY 1 - You can skip the first 2 cutscenes by hitting the "escape key". DO NOT SKIP Robin's cutscene until AFTER she does her one dialogue box when you enter the farm area. (If you skip too early you won't be given the extra items from the file creation screen.)

-This first day you will be mining rock (single hit rocks, geodes, copper ore) that has spawned on the farm, keeping track of the experience you get (my tutorial I had about 190 experience Day 1 with extra luck). (Checking the TV for luck can be done if you want to have best chances for extra experience.) Eat 1 "Spicy Eel" to give extra luck + movement speed. Break the single hit rocks on your way over to the bottom left corner. DO NOT BREAK the double hit rocks (waste of energy) unless there are no normal rocks left.

-Once you are almost at zero energy, the clock should be ~12:00pm. Run over to Gus (at the saloon/bar) and you will need to talk to him to duplicate the extra items you were given (warp totems, sweet gem berry, and spicy eel). Talk to him AFTER he is behind the counter. Each "talk" should give you 1 more of each item. For a floor 50 run, you'll need 25 sweet gem berries. (120 mines you need 69.)

-Once you have the berries, run to the general store to sell the berries and buy 1 bag upgrade for floor 50. (2 bag upgrades for floor 120). Then you need to run up to Robin's house (two screens north) and buy stone. The amount of stone depends on how many floors you'll reach on Day 5.

I consistently hit floor 10 (on Day 5), so my stone (and sweet gem berries) are based on this. SPEND ALL leftover gold on stone stacks.
-50 mines will have a little less than 4 stacks of 999 stone. -120 mines will have a little less than 10 stacks of 999 stone.

-After buying the stone, go back home and sleep until Day 5.

DAY 5 - You can check the TV for more luck (your choice) but it can give extra experience if you have a lucky day.

-Goal for the day- Reach mining level 2. Teleport to the mines (using red warp totem) and break double hit rocks and copper ore for experience. Break single hit rocks to find a ladder for the next floor. You can use cherry bombs for large clusters of double hit rocks/copper ore to get experience faster. ALSO - EAT SPICY EEL AGAIN

-You should likely get enough experience by floor 10 of the mines. Once you have 380 experience, go back to the surface and use the green warp totem to go back home. Sleep for level 2 mining upgrade.

DAY 6 (FINAL DAY) - Teleport to the mines (red warp totem) and arrange your inventory so your main hotbar is empty. Make staircases to fill the hotbar. Take the elevator down to (hopefully) floor 5 or 10 and start placing the staircases down. When you run out, make more staircases for your hotbar and keep going down until floor 50 or 120.

IMPORTANT Stone is routed so that you TAKE THE FREE LADDERS on the floors 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110. If you use a staircase on one of these floors you risk running out of stone.
