Level Categories

I think we should make "10 Man Brawl" and "100 Man Brawl" into level categories. Also, we should do Target Test as a level category. What do you think?

France

Yeah I agree with this I don't play SSF a lot so you can manage that :)

I can tell why you don't play SSF. I know you are the former world record holder for Super Mario 63. And I bet you are trying to take your record back from "IhaveLuigi7826".

How do you make "Target Test" added onto the level leaderboards without having the categories for Multi-Man brawl?

France

Lol it's mostly because SSF is not part of the games I play, and I don't care about SM63 Any% much anymore lol

In this case it was better to create different categories for 100 man and 10 man

I made 10-Man and 100-Man into "Full-Game Leaderboard" Categories, and I made Target Test into a "Level" on the "Level Leaderboards". I also took the time to make every single character into a category. For example: Luigi. Rules: Beat Target Test with Luigi.

France

That's even better, thanks! I will do the same for SSF2 when I have the time, will be done before the end of the next week, I also have a lot of times to add =)

Just edited, they are better as misc categories ^^

Okay, when you made the 10-Man and 100-Man categories misc categories, I thought "You know what would be a crazy idea? Adding "All characters" to their titles." So that's exactly what I did. I made categories named "10-Man Brawl All Characters", and "100-Man Brawl All Characters". I also put "all characters" as a category for Target Test.

France

Cool, I also improved that :)

How do you guys feel about the Ctrl+Enter button combination that skips levels? Should it be in its own separate category for runs, or should it be negated completely? Because Im not sure if its a cheat, or a exploit of what the game engine has.

France

That is a flash command due to how Macromedia Flash Player 8 works. Basically flash commands have these effects on every flash game, and they're never allowed on speedruns because that's not ingame stuff.

So yeah, that's completely banned.

Oh wait, I just realised. I don't use the skip button in Floating Island in my Adventure Mode PB, but hyde does. Should it be allowed? I feel like doing the level is better, but, yeah I'm waiting for you guys' opinions.

I used it due to it being a function in the games code. the skip function is there and has been there, so id say its a legal action to use when running the game.

I'm not sure if there would be more categories because of it (No Warps, Warps runs etc.), but since its in the games code, I feel like its usable.

If I knew that certain "skip" was possible, I would've used it a long time ago. I say a long time ago because Speedrun.com hasn't been an official website when Super Smash Flash came out.

Just found this out, but the skip does actually negate the Web version from pretty much being faster in adventure mode. The function is not in the Web version for some reason, while the downloadable PC version does. Im still all for the skip being allowed, and still think its legal.

Well, that makes sense.

I know this hasn't been active in 4 YEARS, but I'm all for the Skip Glitch being legal just to skip Floating Islands. That level is a nightmare that even Flight of the Scarecrow in Lego Batman: The Videogame can't compare to it.

Peru

lol
