Boss Strategies
Updated 6 years ago by Sm_Izumi

Hey fellow speedrunners, new guide from Izumi here !

This game was cool enough to catch my attention and i did a WR that i'm still not proud of, knowing there's probably a sub 27 to get... So in order to boost my confidence and moral to get back to run this game i went on extensive researches and trained a bit more by playing Hard mode etc....

Note that the videos presented for the Boss strategies was done humanly, no TAS whatsoever but does include a 99 stock code because i didn't had Boss save states so i went on doing all the game in a row. The code were used only to speed up the process.

For the first Boss i tend to rush as fast as i can down the screen to hit him before he activate, facing him causes him to kinda glitch and just quickly move down so you miss your atk.

Once the hit connect you already won the battle, by standing in middle of his body the wake up atk will 100% be the same, one roll is enough to be away from him. No RNG involved.

Second Boss is simple but my strategy is complex, you can safely battle him by dodging him and land some hit but the patterns will vary with RNG.

You can also alter' my strategy by just doing a jump knee then instantly go for grab and throw him out of screen, it work too but the grab is doing less damage overall.

This is were i put to use the infinite combo, the large hitbox of the boss allow me to start the combo by doing all hit before the knockdown, pause a few, turn on the opposite direction and do a full combo. It will always set up the Boss to do the same distance dash if you didn't mess up.

Boss 3 was making me angry, he got a ridiculous hurt box and does whatever he want he is totally RNG But i did found an exploit ! and it's so silly i feel bad for not finding it right away.

Just..... Neutral jump kick. Timed well it does connect on all Boss patterns.

Boss Number 4 is a duo, it's simple as well but still got a bit of RNG, the dinosaur part is simple i already had a loop that work the only thing you have to avoid is going face first on him at the beginning of the fight cause this guy can grab you. I usually step back a bit then hit, once he's down don't forget to pass on the other side of his body to keep him on screen otherwise you'll lose him. Positioning is the key.

Second Boss is more annoying he can touch you with my strat but it's most likely safe, just wait on the corner that he approaches you, the green symbol on the screen is my cue telling me this boss must not cross the middle of this circle. I jump kick him then proceed to add one more neutral kick on wake up, you can't go further he'll be off screen so i go back in the corner and repeat.

Boss number 5, the hardest of the game in my opinion, the guy got 3 phases :

  • Phase 1 ( 100% safe ) It's pretty self explanatory, when you're on the same line than him, he beam you, provoke this pattern, dodge the atk and combo him, rince and repeat.

  • Phase 2 ( 80% safe ) In second form he'll most likely dash at you, when his HP are big you're safe doing the loop, jump knee to stun him and combo, go the opposite side and wait. However when his HP hit the yellow he double (even triple) dash in a rowand gets faster, so you have to adapt your jump knee as well. He can touch you sometimes.

  • Phase 3 ( 60% safe ) Baby vegeta is horrible, he got fire ball, quick movements, anti air.... he's annoying, i have 2 variation loops shown in the video, either i Jump kick him from a certain distant avoiding anti air or i try to land a jump knee to stun him in order to place a combo. If someone find better and less RNG it would be great.

[Note that you want to keep at least 6 Blast point for the Final Boss if you're playing on normal mode.]

Final Boss, is a joke, both phases are absolutely ridiculous, you just skip the text, casually walk down to face him, roll to dodge his phoenix attack and proceed to kick his ass with a full combo. Once he's on the floor walk to his belt (visual cue) and jump when he wakes up, he'll always do the same move, this is the loop.

For the second phase if you play easy mode it is quite simple, the boss land on your character and his Balls won't hit you thus allowing you to punch infinitely on him.

On other difficulties you have to deal with more Balls placed in a way you'll never get to punch him like on easy mode.

DON'T WORRY ! I got the solution thanks to a channel called Amy rose longplays which is a weird channel that post TAS of damagless runs disguised as fake playthrough. (just to grow his ego i guess ?) Never-mind this isn't the point to rant on people obviously cheating on youtube while having people praising them.

This Tas showed me that he's doing the SUPER kick move that uses 1 blast point, and after further researches i found a rhythmical strategy in order to avoid being hit by the balls.

Wait that the Boss land down and activate otherwise you'll not damage him with your special and that would be sad :/ Once he's down there and ready, do the special and start counting, you'll notice that to be sure i even pressed the sequence of input while counting to 4

1(Roll) 2 (turn character) 3 (press L) 4 (Special) Repeat this 5 time making a total of 6 hit Count again to 4 and do the Special atk.

I hope i was clear enough, if you have something to add, question, strats you found, feel free to tell me. Good luck !
