Hi everybody! (Hi Dr. Nick!),
My name is Zaphod, and im new to speedrunning. Its been just under year since i have started and i have enjoyed learning everything i can. I have watched 2 GDQ's and have learn to respect all forms of running. From the runners, TAS'ers and glitch hunters, everybody is awesome.

Now i have specifically choosen SMW to start my adventures in speedrunning. It was a game I grew up with and had already kinda run in the past. Figuring out the path to star road as a kid was a good feeling.

So long story short. Is there any requirements for submitting w/ video proof. I have a taped run with the time of 12:35.3 on a super nes mini shot on a handheld camera. Its uploaded to youtube (well as i type this it is uploading). I used frame perfect timer, it is found on the android app store. I set the timer to -2.2 according with the rules.
Time stops at peach falling out of the bowser craft.
Is it acceptable with what i have done. I dont own a computer or have immediate access to one. I understand it is not WR time (that should require undeniable proof) so it ok to submit the run?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and look forward to hearing back from all of you.

Thanks,
Zaphod

Hello Zaphod! Welcome to speedrunning!
Generally, times above 11:00-11:15 range don't necessarily require video proof at all. When I started speedrunning, I used a time-lapse and submitted it with my 15 minute run. I continued to use hand cameras until I could play it on emulator a month or two later and could record submissions with OBS.

So, in short, what you've done is perfectly fine. You can attach the video to your submission and you should get by just fine! Be sure to state whether you used an official Nintendo Console/Virtual Console versions, or Emulated it on non-Nintendo hardware.

Hope this helps and good luck on your future runs! We have an active Discord server that can help you with improving your gameplay! Check out #resources and if you are confused or have any questions, be sure to ask them in the #help channe. (invite link: http://discord.me/smw )

Best of luck!

I will download discord and join up! 🙂 i know there is so mich i can learn.

Thanks again!!
