Error in the guide?

Hi, I'm currently planning out a route for a speedrun, and the 80-star guide (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oqE3RbVJ790kjRuLWoG4T9LQeJTBraYS7tz3IPyDmIg) seems to have both Vanish Cap star and MIPS unnumbered. They should be 19 and 20 right? So it seems like there are actually 82 stars total. Am I meant to skip vanish and mips? Or skip later stars? I guess I'll go off the wr route for now, but it's an error I thought I would point out.

You are correct, this route is actually not correct in that aspect (to my knowledge) and is overall quite outdated. I wouldn't recommend going off the world record to start though. I would recommend using this guide to learn all the stars on it, then picking and choosing which ones to use. Using the world record for Overworld 1 is a good idea though because it uses a fast and more consistent stage order.

Yeah, about this topics what are the most like "interchangeable" stars, for example like ttc 100 vs stomp on the thwomp+sl reds, cuz ive tried to learn the route but dont quite know what the actual route looks like

Hey Towny,

Scrolling through that guide, I can say it's very not recommended. Outdated route.

I created a spreadsheet of the recommended beginner route. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uZuJRYPzyQZeIl1TYu-hWPObYmq25wQXXI-JHGTwuNc/edit?usp=sharing

It avoids doing MMM 100's and the FFF framewalk which are pretty hard/inconsistent. It is about 20 seconds slower though.

You can always use the WR route if you wish.
