Fun fact about this star: after the water jump, assuming your speed is greater than 15 but below 16, you will maintain your speed by literally holding nothing at all. Typically when landing on regular ground from a water-jump, you must press forward and Z in order to keep your speed, but because I am jumping onto the sloped log, mario goes into the belly-slide state, which conserves his speed, allowing me to just hold nothing. Definitely one of the more interesting stars on the technical side of things.
