Project Base Q&A with runners:

Dessyreqt's theory TAS of 0.7. This is definitely worth a watch. It uses an old, outdated route, but still holds up pretty well. PBK clip was not yet discovered.

One of the first skips ever discovered was Bomb Torizo Skip by StuntCoyote, or just BT Skip for short. Using the backflip technique, you have a 3 frame window to escape the room immediately after grabbing the bomb upgrade.

Botwoon skip was (easily) found by Stuntcoyote. Various other ceilings with sand pits in maridia were found to be useful, which skipped door animations and saved a bunch of time as well.

Jun 3, 2014: the Green Chozo Room easter egg was found. This was speculated to be an unfinished new area.

Glass tube clip was found by StuntCoyote, which was later discovered to be easier. You can literally just stand still and spark up, and it works.

This trick, found by Adjsart in August of 2014, revolutionized Project Base Speedrunning. No longer would we have to get powerbombs in red tower before kraid. This trick saved a bunch of time (roughly 40-50 seconds) and is sort of the entry barrier for all new runners of this game. We call this Powerbombs-Before-Kraid Clip, or PBK clip for short.

Kraid Quick kill initially was thought to be "patched out" by this romhack, but StuntCoyote once again found a way to do it a bit differently.

By around the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015, more people started picking up this game. Notable runners during this time include Gigahari, LinkaMeister, Hubert0987, and stealinbread. In addition to Any%, a multitude of different categories were routed out and the community started a leaderboard, and began doing weekly races and further optimization with route planning & changes.

"TAS" Kraid was found much later to be possible.
