Hi all,
I figured I'd drop this here since this might be the Endgame of glitchless TASes (barring another potential frame in room 2 of 8-4, which I've spent a lot of time looking for but couldn't find).
Note that this TAS follows the same rules as the RTA category, and thus does not use L+R (which would save an additional framerule in 1-2 and 8-3, plus some frames in 8-4).
In case anybody is wondering: Compared to the current glitchless WR (5:03.367 by GTAce99 at the time of this writing), this TAS saves one framerule in 4-2 and 31 frames (O_o) in 8-4 (and that's it).
@Mruns05 being no glitches, probably yes I think it is human theory
Edit: wait, probably the backward jumps are not of human theory lol lmao
@Mruns05 yes, but you can use it to go faster, and is not planed for Nintendo to can do with that prupose (that last is a perfect definition of a "glitch") lol lmao
@Mruns05 I definitely wouldn't call this a human theory TAS. Human theory is going to be somewhere in the 5:02.6xx range, I would say.
@KilleDragon There's always going to be a sort of gray area when we're talking about what is or isn't considered a "glitch". In this case, I'm just following the rules for the Glitchless leaderboard category, which say "No Wall Jump No Wrong Warp No Flag Pole Glitch No Bullet Bill Glitch No Wall Clip (Mario fully inside the wall)", as well as "left+right/up+down are banned". Since my TAS doesn't do any of those things, it counts as "glitchless" under that ruleset.
Hey Folks!
Just wanted to announce a new change to timing methods for both 11x categories. The new timing standards are as follows:
- Timing starts from power-on/reset (or game select if you're using one of the combo cartridges).
- Timing ends on grabbing the axe on the 11th run.
- Time betw
