I am planning on doing a SM3DW Any% Speedrun today or tomorrow. So I have a question about it. If I were to lose my cat suit and backup cat suit in a level, am I allowed to leave the game completely and come back to it? I will keep the timer going, and doing this will replenish my cat suit so I won't have to go get another one from another level, saving time. I usually do this when I am grinding ILs with items. So I was wondering if I could do this in the Any% category.

Maybe it is but there are cat suits in a lot of levels so I don't think it would be too hard to get another

it would be allowed since the timer is still going on and its still the same game but its not really needed since you can find power-ups pretty easily in SM3DW the cat suit and tanoki suit are pretty common in the game and toad houses can help with lost power ups you just need to keep track with the boxes and remember the order

You can! The fastest way to do this when you die and don't have a backup available, hit plus to bring up your pause menu then -> files -> load -> click the file you were on and select a character. It'll bring you back to the last autosave and you'll have your catsuits!
