Hi ! This is a post for the moderators. I did some local coop games with a friend and we have try to speedrun it, yesterday (just a classic any%). I wonder if we could have a separate local coop category in the speedrun leaderboard, i have recorded one decent game already.

I don't see a reason to count local coop as a different kind of coop than online coop. Considering you can just use the online coop mode to play locally anyway.

Local coop is counted as Any% Coop so here is the leaderboard : http://www.speedrun.com/ror#Any_Coop

Are you sure you don't want to have speedruns for this category ? Here are my thoughts. Local Coop but it's totally different than Online Coop :

• there is only one screen so the two players can't act separately, that make the portal harder to find quickly and create some trouble to handle ennemies that spaws at different places on the map.
• the money won by killing ennemies is shared by the two player so they can have less objects.

So, that is really another mode, which is harder, and exists natively in the game, I didn't make it ! :-D

Then it seems weird to me to read "it's the same as Online Coop", that's not true, or "you can just play to Online Coop instead", 'cause yes, I can, but it's a different mode. It would seems odd too if someone says "you can play in Moonsoon but it's counted as any%" or "you can play in Online Coop but it's counted as single player on the leaderboard"...

I hope you get what I tried to explain and that there is some concrete points to considere this category. If nobody else is interesting we will just be the only ones who run it, not a big deal ^^

Oh, and we could also don't create a new tab on the leaderboard page and just include it in the already existing ranks like "player x and player y (Local coop) ...". But in this case it seems logic that two player can have two differents records on the same leaderboard, Local and Online.

I don't understand of this point of this topic. If you want to submit a run, submit it on Any% Coop. If you want to make it a new category, run it locally with your speedfriends and IF IT BECOMES POPULAR (like on every other speedgames), I guess that would be interesting to have a new category. Else, it's just "free WR" on a stupid category. Yes, there are differences between local and online, however these differences are really small.

I can see how it's a different category. I can see it being a neat run.

But it doesn't really need its own leaderboard. Since it's local co-op, you won't get any competition, I don't think any of the other co-op runners will bother traveling to the same place for this one category that's only a little different from online co-op.

If you want to compete, play online co-op. If you want to have fun with local co-op, go have fun, you can submit your runs under co-op if you want to or just post them somewhere else. I'm not gonna make a new leaderboard for it.

Similarly, I'm also not making special leaderboards for more than 2 players, or for IGT%, or for all artifacts. Those are all legitimate categories, but they have no competition.

Ok, I understand the "there is not enough people playing it so there is no real competition, so there won't be a leaderboard". Seems fair to me.

4 players. That's a main category, not a fringe category, so the same scrutiny doesn't apply.

I think you should create a category like "all artifacts" or "no artifacts", it will be great ! :D

All artifacts is a category, as is Vanilla%. See under 'Misc categories'.

I'm recently getting into Risk of Rain speedrunning and looking at the categories I have some questions/suggestions.

1. Just for clarification, do coop runs include runs with more than 2 people?
2. Why is there no low% coop runs? I have friends that I would love to have join me in streaming and climbing up the leaderboards in any category.
3. Would adding glitchless any% runs be a plausible category? Many runs use the providence and bandit glitches to speed their way through the game without the real challenge of the increasing difficulty, especially using artifacts like glass and command.

1. Any number.
2. No one has run it so I haven't added it yet.
3. If there's actual interest, i.e. more than one run.
