SETUP
This game is considered "abandonware".
I recommend using external software (ex. RivaTuner) to limit the FPS to 30. Explosions cause damage on a per-frame basis, so having high FPS will put you at extreme risk of getting insta-killed.
You can rebind controls in the options menu (and there are currently no rules against doing so externally with for example AutoHotkey). If you choose to use the default controls and also have LiveSplit configured with the default hotkeys, make sure to Toggle Global Hotkeys in LiveSplit, since the same keys are used.
GAMEPLAY
The first few levels are extremely easy, since enemy bullets only do a single point of damage to your health and/or armour.
From Mission 5-2 onward you will encounter robots that fire the Ion Beam, which is an instant kill at high FPS, and still extremely lethal otherwise. You can stun-lock them by rapidly firing the starting pistol at them, and in later encounters I would recommend either the Laser Pistol or the Rocket Launcher.
Mission 5-3 is a maze-like cave system that can be very difficult to traverse. There is a video of the route stickied in the Discord, or you can take a look at the World Record run.
Mission 9-1 is the battle against M.I.N.D. It can pop out of the wall from each of the four cardinal directions. So far the most consistent way to do this battle is to line yourself up with the next spawn over in counter-clockwise direction, inside but near the edge of the inner-circle. The robo-tentacle should pop out a number of small laser turrets that you can destroy using the Rocket Launcher. Destroy all of these laser turrets.
Mission 9-2 is a timed puzzle consisting of 6 terminals, each with their own number associated to them. So far the sequence has appeared completely random. Each number only appears once, so simply try every remaining number until you know what number corresponds to what machine, and enter the number. Every third number you input wrong will result in all machines resetting. Do not pay attention to this, as the numbers do not change. Just come back to these machines once you've determined the full sequence.
TIPS & TRICKS
- When interacting with objects, you don't need to time your (Enter) key press, you can just hold it down while approaching.
- Robots (with the Ion Beam) can be stun-locked with just about any weapon to keep them from blasting you.
