Just discuss whatever is relevant here. I'll start.

I think it's time to all the few people who are interested in this game to actually decide on when RTA timing it supposed to start:

  1. As it's being stated in the rules currently, when i'm making this post, which is on player pressing start on the title screen and getting in the main menu OR
  2. As it's being actually used by everyone in their submissions which is when player chooses "start race" option in the menu

And although i've already made a switch to In-game time as a main timing method (since it seems to be pretty reliable not abusable and actually accurate way to compare people's times) that doesn't get rid of the question what should be done with the RTA timing which is why i'm brinding it up. If 1st option will be agreed upon then quickest upgrade purchase should be timed and added to all the runs to make things fair. If 2nd option gets chosen then rules should simply be changed plus that would make a "beat level 1 low%" category idea to become way too silly, unless there're people out there who are willing to go slow on purpose.

So yeah, Jaggerfroid and anyone else are free to voice their opinions on the matter.

http://i.imgur.com/i7adqbo.png IGT of all currently existing runs if anyone is interested. Since end of your vod doesn't include final race time, Jaggerfroid, there was no way for me to find out your exact in-game time, so i left it to be like it was.

And one more thing to think about is what should be done with the categories for this game. The way i see it is either:

  1. More categories appear such as 'beat level 2', 'beat level 3' (with a non cheated level code given by someone who played through the game already) and so on, OR 'beat level 1-2', 'beat level 1-3' etc. to make leaderboard look a bit better. OR
  2. Only beating full game category stays and all the levels/individual races stuff gets moved to individual levels board.
Russia

Before the first run i've submitted i actually didn't even think about buying upgrades, even though it should've been obvious ever since i saw the way the timing is being started in your run, so i was racing w/o any upgrades, getting somewhat close to that 14:22, but never too close. Surely it was quite a bit more challenging than the way things being done now, but imo it's not really making that big of a difference to make it into a separate category, especially now with the latest changes to the leaderboards, plus it's gonna be only relevant for level 1 too which makes it seem like an even worse idea.

However, if you still want that category to stay here then i'd say you should move it to misc., Jaggerfroid. I'm not the one who can have a final say when moderating these boards, so do as you wish.

Edit: Removed 'beat level 1 low%' and will take some time in the near future to do a final bit of reorganizing to the leaderboards.

I am getting in to runs of this game and would like to know how to calculate IGT properly so that I may submit one.

In-game time for each race can be seen on a results screen like this which is briefly visible when you skip cutscenes in-between any of the courses. As for calculating final IGT it's as simple as summing together all of the races times. https://i.imgur.com/gjxvCRt.png

Got a couple additions on boosts mechanics:

  1. Seems like boosts are being triggered when gas button is pressed and held after. That means car boost is being "stored" after it charges until player will trigger gas. That concludes to couple of benefits: a ) player doesn't get speed penalty if he is on the grass when boosts charges if gas isn't pressed or held. b ) if player saving already triggered boost speed on the grass, he can wait for comfy moment to reach the road and get additional boost if it was charged.
  2. Some tracks parts like 1st lvl germany(last 2/3 the of track), uk (last 2/3 of the track), italy (last 1/3 of the track) has lower car boosts than usually(depends on the bike). Means you can't or almost can't get boosted from 127 to 133-134 on perro 125. Probably boost will be around 131-132. And this is actually affects track time. Kamakazi 250, as i had observed, has some tolerance to this boost decreasion. Therefore i think, there is some sence to test other route in lvl 1 category by swapping uk and brazil, since germany is no-brainer to be runned on kamakazi.
