This guide will mainly focus on the Mac port of the game since that's the version of the game I have on hand since I don't own a CD-i let alone this game on the CD-i.

On the CD-i port (and maybe the Mac port too) turning off the sound is faster than with it on so it won't have to bother loading the sounds making you wait. The current WR for the CD-i port is around 4 minutes with sound, and 1 minute without sound. I never had to bother with the sound because of how my setup for running Mac OS 9 through SheepSaver doesn't have sound. The install I'm using is booting off the disc with another disc in which is for the game. On Mac you can run the executable off the disc even when your using the OS off of a disc like here. This could be why sound doesn't work.

The moment you load the game the intro logo can be skipped with a click (though this only works sometimes, mainly when I click the instant it appears). You then click the center door and start the timer. For the first 2-3 clicks you can click fast without going to the wrong door, ruining the whole run. You can do something similar at the end once at door 20 (as in you can again keep your mouse in the same spot for 2 clicks). You can also move your mouse while the screen is black between rooms so once it loads the cursor can click the next object faster (doubt this can be done on the CD-i port, but idk).

Due to the nature of the game's backgrounds being hand painted, the hit boxes for when the objects will take you to the next room might not go despite clicking on the object. This is most noticeable on the candle, and when clicking door 15 which in the image is thin and smaller than the other objects.

Order goes as follows: Center, 26, 30, 42, 4, 29, candle (best to click the middle stem of the candle to assure that it will go to the next screen), 45, 23, 8, 12, 39, 5, 15, 37, 20, 1, exit (far left).

Once you click the exit on the last screen you can stop the timer.
