Always remember to check the rules when viewing each category and platform before submitting runs.

Gathering the files you need:

Playstation Emulator -

The first thing you will need is the right emulator to play on. Download it here: https://code.google.com/archive/p/psxjin/downloads The version must be PSXJIN v. 2.0.2. No other versions are allowed. Bizhawk emulator is also allowed.

The next thing you will need is the ISO of the game. We can not supply this for obvious reasons. Make sure you get the Director's Cut version, not the Dual Shock version. Google is your friend.

Make sure you enable the "Input Display" in the emulator. This is a rule because it shows the buttons the player is pressing on screen. This is used as an anti-cheat method and to determine you are using the correct emulator. To enable this setting in your emulator, click on EMULATOR / DISPLAY INPUT. or comma key (,) is also a keyboard shortcut to turn it on and off. Hand-cams and input display through programs like xPadder do not count.

PC Version -

You will first need a copy of the PC version. We can not supply this for obvious reasons. We recommend joining our community Discord server and asking for help on getting yourself a copy of the game, and about anything related to Resident Evil speedrunning while you're in there :)

The next file you will need is the REbirth patch for the game. This forces the game to run at intended gameplay speed on modern operating systems and PCs. Download it here: http://appleofeden.de-doc.com/index.php/download/resident-evil-dll-fix-for-classic-edition/

Livesplit is a timer that is necessary for timing runs on the PC version. This timer supports IGT (In-Game Timer) scripts that synchronizes the current time in-game, to the time displayed on your Livesplit timer. This IGT script is required. There are also autosplitters if you are interested in using them (automatically splits for you)
