I agree that the version everybody should be running has to be a version that can be easily obtainable and legal. When RE3 China got added to the leaderboard without a discussion then Japan really took it in the ass and wasn't able to compete anymore.
I'm still for a ban of China cause it was added for stupid reasons (which is why we banned RE2 china as soon as we could), however since I know that wont happen I'm sure the current RE3 mods wont have a problem by seperating the regions seeing that this is their fault and I hope that they want Japan to be able to compete on PC. Personally I'm against seperation between regions but there arent that many options to choose from.
RE3 mods: This is were you get to make things right.
Nothing against do that, For me could have be a category for each version of the game, CHN, JPN, USA.
If nothing is done, I suggest using the version filter. It will only show you the times with the Japanese version.
@allancg: Filter is mostly useless for anything on SRC. The only thing that really matters is the rankings on your own profile and filters wont help you there. :/
There are certainly facts that Japanese runners can not use the Chinese version.
However, the concept of copyright varies from country to country. Therefore, I do not think to deny overseas runners that use the Chinese version.
Besides, I'd like to honestly admire newcomers who have recently shortened their records significantly in a short period of time.
Although this is a personal opinion to the last, I use the Japanese version , and I'd like to be able to run as well as excellent runners who use the Chinese version .
So, I do not want to separate leader boards.
The Chinese version was confirmed to be an official release by Capcom so I don't know why we should ban an official release. No need to separate in my opinion.
Enetirnel has already proven the EA version released in China is legitimate/official.
The version is already on the boards now, banning it is out of the question considering Wusscake's run is the best run on the boards regardless of version. Separating it? Not out of the question. Banning it? Yes.
We've all done the research to learn which Chinese versions are real and which ones are fake. The Chinese version we found is in fact an official Capcom version. There is a ton of copyright infringement with Bio3, but you are incorrect that we use fake versions.
You are assuming that the English-speaking people who play RE3 (who are not Japanese) are stupid, and have never tried to talk to other Japanese players. I know you have tried multiple times to submit your times on multiple speedrun.com accounts to cheat leaderboard positions. We're not fucking idiots, Komakino.
It's almost funny how your focus in this conversation shifted IMMEDIATELY when Keny (another Japanese) offered his opinion. You expected Keny to attack you immediately, then you pre-emptively went after him. He didn't say anything to you in this conversation. You attacked him to try to make yourself look better. Keny is being smart by not talking to you.
If anything, everything you said about Keny (bought $1000's worth of keyboards to experiment with, makes many game saves, and records his statistics) just shows me that he's dedicated to learning about, and really loves Bio3. Keny said "Japanese runners can't use the Chinese version" simply because nobody knows how to obtain it. Keny managed to obtain the Chinese version. He won't use it because he wants to remain fair to other Japanese players who still wish to play Bio3 Mediakite. This is admirable of Keny, because I do the same thing.
Lastly, if you're so against illegal downloading, show us a picture of your Biohazard 3 disc. I have spoken to Japanese players who have said you lied about having a real copy. They also told me you got really angry and attacked others over it when you couldn't prove it. If you can't prove you are not a liar, then maybe you shouldn't pretend to have superior morals.

RE2 China is banned because the version doesn't work properly, same reason as RE2 Mediakite. The Chinese version of RE3 works perfectly, so I don't see where you're going with that.
Whether Wusscake is on Chinese or not doesn't matter for the WR. None of the Mediakite times are comparable performance wise to his run anyway. It's the fastest run of this game and would be regardless of whether it's on the Chinese version or Mediakite.
