I don't know when the timing rules for levels was implemented, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was before the PC release. The rule states that you must start the clock as soon as you click yes and it ends when you return to your character. The problem with this is that PC players have a huge advantage due to faster loading times. I will use the mission old friends as an example: The first place by vanovist (PC) takes 11 seconds to load the mission and 6 to load out of it. Hess' run on a PS4 takes 28 seconds to load the mission and 10 seconds to load up Arthur again. This means that a console player will already start around 21 seconds behind the PC player.

Anyway, I think a timing rule similar to the one used in GTA V would be better, with the timer starting as soon as the mission begins (probably a cutscene) and ending as soon the mission ends (cuts to black).

Also, I understand retiming everything would be a massive pain in the ass, but i'd be down to help with it.

hmm yeah that would probably be better. i'll probably change the rules at some point when i feel like retiming all the levels

At least the loading times are pretty consistent, from what i've seen

i'm going to be doing some runs tommorow and will like to know if a rule change is happening before i submit 🙂

When (if) the rules change, your level runs will just be retimed, so there's no real problem with submitting a level run before that happens.

yeah just submit under the current rules, i'll retime the runs tomorrow (and edit the rules)

i've changed the rules now. timing now starts at the beginning of the mission after the loading screen.
probably won't be retiming all the runs straight away but if you submit a run to a level where the runs aren't already retimed, i'll just retime the runs that are already there in that specific mission/level

i'm gonna change the rules again since i didn't consider that there's a loading screen before your character loads in, and that loading screen can have varying lenghts on different platforms. so now the run ends when the screen turns black/when the missions ends and loading begins.
