R.C. Grand Prix

Remote control cars were all the rage back in the late 1980's. It was only
natural that a racing game would be made featuring these. The aim of this game
is to win through a series of increasingly difficult races and become the grand
champion remote control car driver. Placing last or running out of time in any
race means it is game over!

These controls are among the simplest of any game I have ever played. You
shouldn't really need this section.

Left directional button - Steer left, move cursor left in shops.
Right directional button - Steer right, move cursor right in shops.
Up directional button - Only used to change between entering the shop or not.
Down directional button - Only used to change between entering the shop or not.

Button 1 - Go faster, start game, choose an item in shop, progress to next
screen.
Button 2 - Not used.

To progress to the next race, you need to place better than last, as well as
making it to the finish line before time runs out. Prize money is awarded
after each race as follows:

1st: $100 and $1 for every second remaining.
2nd: $50 and $1 for every second remaining.
3rd: $25 and $1 for every second remaining.

Money can be used after each race to buy parts to make future races easier. See
Sections 6 and 7 for more details on what can and should be bought when.

There are 5 parts that can be improved on your vehicle. Each part has either
two or three possible upgrades. 


Motor:
  High Torque Motor         $120
  High Speed Motor          $140
  Ultra Motor                     $180

Motor upgrades make your car MUCH faster. They drain the batteries though.

Tires:
 Improved Tires            $130
 Ultra Tires                    $190

The most expensive parts, these make the car easier to corner.

Suspension:
 Improved Suspension       $125
 Ultra Suspension              $180

Similar to tires, makes cornering easier.

Gears:
  High Torque Gears         $120
  High Speed Gears          $150
  Ultra Gears                     $180

Gears will make your vehicle a bit quicker, but not as much as a motor will.

Batteries:
  High Current Batteries    $130
  Ultra Batteries           $180

Batteries increase your vehicle speed and the power boost will last for the
whole race, unlike a motor upgrade.
